I've given him a forum about children's TV, although he'll probably say "Yes but that's for classic kid's shows, I can't go on about Boogie Boll*cks on there." Rolling Eyes

Okay folks, I'll reveal what got me into Boogie Beebies in the first place.

Boxing Day 2006 I was channel hopping and around 17:40 turned over to CBeebies intending to record the Xmas ident for my ident collection (you see, I collect idents). When I turned to CBeebies I landed about a third of the way through the Big Video: "Brave Prince". As a keen Eurovision fan, the melody of "Brave Prince" sounded somewhat like a past Eurovision Song Contest entry (circa mid to late eighties), but I couldn't think which song, country or year, and have been unable to a similar soundalike Eurovision song since.

The next couple of evenings I cottoned on that "Brave Prince" was being used all that week, so I videoed the "Brave Prince" edition of Boogie Beebies shown on Friday 29 December 2006 17:30 - 17:45, and watched it later that evening. The first Saturday in January I watched it again, and tried some of the moves Laughing Having realised what fun it is to join in and copy Pete and the Boogie Bunch, I then thought what a pity a similar programme to this didn't exist in my preschool days. Crying or Very sad Just like I wish to this day that indoor play complexes (soft play, ball pits and slides), and water slides had been around when I was a kid.

Late February I browsed the Boogie Beebies section of the CBeebies web site. With the wide selection of dances in "All The Dances", I fancied seeing some of the others on TV (as opposed to partial / whole video clips of the Big Videos on the site) so since early March I've recorded the shows, and joined in with them. Great fun! Laughing Laughing Well it's my way of making up for something I missed out on as a playgroup age child. That's why last Sunday afternoon I was able to produce the list of so many different Big Video dances that have been covered the last two months (including which ones were made in 2004 or 2006).

Hope I've satisfied your curiosity.

We're not curious, we just want you to stop going on at us about it.

I just cannot believe the arguement going on here about a Kid's TV show. For crying out loud man! Grow up. Rolling Eyes

This guy is a nutcase with a worrying obsession on preteen entertainment.

AKA Star Attraction at digitalspy, he liked to post photos of himself (a grown man) playing at these areas. He never could work out why everyone on the forum was worried for his mental health.

Edit: I see this has already been noticed.. I just couldn't bring myself to read the rest of the thread properly Sad

What you do in your own time and in your own surroundings is entirely up to you but do you really want to come on a public internet forum like this and admit you actually dance around to Boogie Beebies?

As to indoor play complexes, I think it was all lumped under "preschool education" or "reception class" and took part in proper classrooms before somebody cottoned onto the idea of infant complexes we have now.

If you want to tape the episodes of Boogie Beebies and copy all the moves and what not, then again that's up to you and not for anybody else to say otherwise, but most other people get their kicks out of "naughty" websites and what not. This is quite possibly the first case of "BoogieBeebieitis" anybody has seen.

The reason I put this in is because, soon after I started this thread last weekend, Ronnie Rowlands replied:

heh. how sad. and he talks about it as if the programme is brand new

Until a few weeks Xmas 2006, I didn't even know Boogie Beebies existed. Close to Xmas 2006 I recorded CBeebies pres, and whilst sifting through it, found Boogie Beebies trailers, but that is NOT what tempted me to watch an edition, I merely took those as trailers, just like Teletubbies, Tweenies etc.

This explains how, I've gone from not knowing Boogie Beebies even existed before Xmas 2006, to wanting to set up a thread about it on a forum. The object of this forum was to discuss the content of the show, and whether or not you think the concept is good or bad, i.e. getting kids to dance along with the action, rather than just siting and watching. I resent the way that in the last 24 hours, this has just been an argument as to whether or not the thread should be here at all.

I don't disagree with what's been said, this is probably not the best forum to set up a thread devoted to Boogie Beebies. Just like the General Discussion section of Digital Spy Forums doesn't seem to have been the ideal place to start threads on Indoor Adventure Play Complexes (I started it over 2 years ago, and it still only has 7 pages) or water parks (even less popular). That's one of the downfalls of online discussion, you need the right kind of forum to discuss what you want to say, and finding the right forum isn't always easy. Perhaps my Indoor Adventure Play Complexes and Water Parks threads would have been more successful on a travel / tourism / leisure forum, goodness knows where I'd find one.

If you (Neil Jones) can suggest a better forum to start a Boogie Beebies thread please name one.

I know, thank you Ronnie Rowlands. I was asking Neil Jones.

Well you've no need to ask, because I've given you one. So now you need not carry on this discussion, because you can start talking to the people on that forum who give half a **** about it.
