Dance, dance, dance
Come and dance with Boogie Beebies.

Yes, Boogie Beebies. A kids' dance show on the digital channel CBeebies. Sometimes presented by Pete Hillier (aka "Boogie Pete") and Nataylia Roni.

Each programme begins with a warm-up, then they teach that day's dance bit by bit, and finish with the Big Video. Finally the closing sequence is supposed to be the cool down routine.

In fact, they tend to cover one dance over the course of a week, Monday to Friday, and teach a bit each day. The Friday edition tends to be a recap of Monday to Thursday. All editions Monday to Friday feature the same Big Video, e.g. this week (Monday 16 April to Friday 20 April), they did "Roll Up Roll Up" - a circus video.

If you want, you can join in and copy Pete and Nat, and do as much or as little as you want.

Why couldn't the BBC have brought out a programme like this when I was a preschool age kid (circa 1973 - 1976). It's not fair!! Crying or Very sad Sad

Bravo! I wholeheartedly agree with you there. Boogie Beebies - a children's programme in which the children watching it are expected to get up and join in with the dance routine. At least that's healthy exercise, better than just sitting and watching it. The BBC's effort to tackle the growing childhood obesity problem in today's "couch potato" generation.

An ambiguous question. Are you referring to another TV Forum user in this Boogie Beebies thread? If so, which one?

Yes, judging by his other thread, where he refers to B2... Shocked

What's sad about this thread? I know that it's not brand new, some editions of Boogie Beebies that have been shown recently, e.g. Cup Cake, Pirate Gang were made in 2004 (BBC MMIV). Others were made more recently, e.g. Brave Prince in 2006 (BBC MMVI).

Just for the record, here's when some of the recent editions of Boogie Beebies (the last six weeks) have been made. In each case, the title is the title of the Big Video, and in brackets I have put names of the presenter(s). We can see a correlation, the 2004 ones were all presented by both Pete and Nat, the 2006 ones were all presented by Pete alone. Anyone know why Nat didn't appear in the following 2006 programmes?

2004
Cup Cake (Pete and Nat)
Go Go Mango (Pete and Nat)
The Kangaroo (Pete and Nat)
Pirate Gang (Pete and Nat)
Space Walking (Pete and Nat)
Take It To The Checkout (Pete and Nat)

2006
Airport (Pete)
Brave Prince (Pete)
Rainbow Sky (Pete)
Roll Up Roll Up (Pete)
Sporty Boogie (Pete)
Vegetable Jam (Pete)
The Waterhole (Pete)
