Very sad news, indeed. As a previous poster said, you would not have thought he was 75 by the way he looked!
Well I'm not sure he has started to look his age lately but he still kept busy despite the cancer his last big appearance was of course at last years Royal Variety Performance after that I heard he was going to do be doing another series of Wipeout i'm just wondering if he has already done Wipeout and if BBC are going to show it or not.

Jeremy Beadle said that even though he had been ill, he had been making wipeout and pushing himself as he always had. He said on one of his interviews with various people today.

He was on with Des & Mel earlier this year. He didn't walk on, he did a clarrisa dickson wright and was already seated in the chair, but unlike her, he was on the tall chair by the desk.

A true comic genius, cruelly snatched away when he had so much more to give. Rest in peace, Bob.

I was saddened to hear his death, he was a true comedy legend, he always made me laugh, and used his facial expressions brilliantly, he was a comedy genius, no doubts about that. Sad

Yes....very upsetting news indeed! I couldn't believe it when I was told this morning. One of Britain's finest and unique comedians has gone forever and will never be replaced. Up there with the likes of Tommy Cooper, Benny Hill etc etc...he will be sadly missed Crying or Very sad

One of those people you say "What?! Really?!" when told about his death. Even if you hate him, you can't dispute his talent and contribution over the years. His career was distinguished.

He was such a great story teller too. I crack up everytime I hear his story about the bible basher and the woman with the twitch on The Golden Shot!

Indeed, Bob Monkhouse will be greatly missed, he was one of the few REAL entertainers left on TV nowadays, a true legend till the end, and very fast on any joke. Truely fantastic.

Also noticed on the ITV News at 6.30pm they played a clip from Celebrity Squares which they acknowledged as "Central Television", quite odd because subsequent clips from Family Fotunes (still Central) were acknowledged as "Carlton International". Strange </geekness>

Yes, I am deeply saddened by this news. Bob was a comedy legend, I'm afraid we're not replacing the likes of him.

I don't believe that some of today's modern comedians will be remembered as fondly as the likes of Bob.

It seems that trait isn't being limited to just comedy - sports, politics, actors, even TV soaps and newsreaders, to me all note the same patern.

Bob & his "old style" of stand up comedy without rowdy, over the top silliness will be missed Crying or Very sad
