The Boat Race 2005 on ITV

When the race was in the last 30 seconds (or so) SKY¦News went to a live reporter near the finish line (on the bridge) and was trying to comment on everything apart from the actual race. The person in the studio was prompting him about who was leading and who actually won where the live report served NO purpose at all. The reporter was awful and I have never seen him on SKY¦News and hopefulyl never will again.

For those who want to know the reporter was male, about 28, black with short hair.

I did watch the race on ITV1 and got no major views on it either way. The race itself was quite boring (but i suppose most years it is like that!)
The picture quality was better than what I remember from previous years with only minimal picture disturbances.

The only surprising thing was that ITV only had FOUR advert breaks between 14:00 and 15:55! People here were concerned that in the middle of the race ITV1 would take a break but I think they have surprised everyone by keeping the ads down to a minimum!

I was particularly entertained by the ridiculous commentary.

"It's not so much a case of Beauty And The Beast, but beauty in the same boat as the beast."

He could only have been more Alan Partridge if he'd asked where Norwich University were in the race.

During the interviews, i noticed several huge ITV 1 logos were on the backing screens.The background colour of the ONE was orange and not yellow. As this was a networked programme, surely the logo should have been just ITV.

Yeah I noticed the ITV1's everywhere, surely it should be ITV Sport rather than ITV1, especially if they're planning to repeat it or show highlights on 2 or 3.
