I think part of the problem is when a show starts to run out of ideas and either it gets dull and repetitive (e.g. newer episodes of The Simpsons) or they piss about with the format and ruin it (e.g league of Gentleman). Bo Selecta suffered from both of these by the end. The best thing for any show to do is end early on, when it's still popular and still fresh, then people remember it more. John Cleese had the right idea with Fawlty Towers.

totally agree...countless shows have been ruined by trying to squeeze out as much money as possible.

Well I don't think The League of Gentlemen did it for the money. They knew that if they did the same thing for a 3rd series, everyone would just say it's getting repetitive, and they wanted to try and closer to what they had wanted to do, which was a psuedo-documentary style, hence the dramatic changes. Personally, I love the 3rd series, especially the way all six episodes tie together.

yes, I agree, I don't think The League of Gentlemen was stretched out for the money. I enjoyed the 1st and 2nd series as they were so completely different to everything else that had ever been done...the 3rd just freaked me out a bit too much!

He also made some pretty crass remarks about the late Princess of Wales whilst introducing Elton John's remake of candle in the Wind. Mad

I have that show on video, and I can tell you that he doesn't.

Sorry, I stand corrected, thought it was him. Must be somebody else on a simlar show, channel 4 did a few '100 best ...' shows featuring music.

still find Leigh Frances / bo selecta annoying though. Wasn't he doing some dire **** com dressed as a bear or something

I think you might have a different idea of "good" to most people...

It's like Marmite. You either love it or hate it. Wink

The show doesn't seem to be played with a laughter track unlike the other three series, and A Bear's Tail. I hope to god these are just for the previews. It isn't the same without the laughter.

the previews seem to be 'we're vulgar, and we're proud' Confused

the one i saw had the bear saying he'd like to ######### ######## ####### ###### the female guest and ### ###### ####### ##### ##### ###### #### in a #### ####### ####### with a couple of ###### ###### ####### ####### ####### ####### ###

or words to that effect Rolling Eyes

the continuity announcer seemed to be almost gloating at how vulgar it was

I saw the comment about the laughter track before somewhere, maybe its because these are just previews and not from the full film files at broadcast quality?
Or maybe its because I will be laughing so much you will all here me!

they have got previews n the channel 4 site , maybe they have the laughter track on?
