Something that passed by me, and presumably this thread as I can't see anything on this but two more former Blue Peter pets have died recently, Matt Baker's dog Meg and cat Oke.

Only realised this when Matt sort of choked up when announcing this on last nights One Show. That brings it up to four this year that have died.

Well that'll make for a depressing first episode of the new series, now Helen and Barney have to announce more pet deaths. Sad

I'm sure this news is about a month or 2 old?

The last time I watched Blue Peter on a regular basis, it was Bonnie the dog!

Former presenter Konnie Huq was on Blockbusters on Challenge an hour ago. She didn't win. I'm surprised that hasn't turned up on one of those "before they were famous" shows.

If this is reliable, it answers the question about the Time Capsules etc.

Save the BP garden

Save the BP garden

Does it? It just says the sunken garden and the statues are going into storage.. Doesn't say anything about the capsules.

Though I see the Facebook campaign for it is popular... 7 people like it.

Nice to hear that a new studio has been confirmed, although it has been common knowledge for a while.
This BBC Press release says nothing about a new presenter - perhaps, as discussed on here, there isn't a need for a 3rd presenter when the show is only on twice a week. Is this the first time the show is presented by just 2 people since 1958?
Blue Peter returns: BBC Press Office

Quote:
Blue Peter is back! Barney Harwood and Helen Skelton kick off this brand new series by arriving at their snazzy new Salford Quays studio in style.

Jam-packed with Blue Peter's usual mix of entertainment, news and fascinating facts, the new series is full of surprises, starting with the team unveiling their new-look studio.

When Richard Bacon was sacked were they using 3 or 4 presenters at the time then - I remember they had previous hosts fronting the show as well in the lead up to the 40th, but can't recall if there were two or three other presenters at the time. I think there was Stuart Miles and Katy Hill - had Konnie Huq started by then too?
