That's worse than I assumed it would be before clicking on the link.

I'm guessing they got the same people to vandalise it as in 1983.

It can't be all that bad - Breakfast have been doing the weather from there this week!

The current gardner Chris Collins happened to be in my neck of the woods not long
ago come to think of it judging a primary school gardening contest.

Slightly straying, but it's worse than just expecting the garden to rot in itself.

No, it's really bad - Breakfast is using the one square foot of garden that looks presentable. If the camera moves an inch either way it spoils the illusion. The pond has been stripped away, the grass is a state, weeds are everywhere.

ah, it's not that bad!

They've filled in the sunken garden, turfed over the vegetable patch, and taken the greenhouse (and all signs of Blue Peter branding) away - but it's still quite a pleasant wee back garden.

it will probably just be left for other programmes to use and also a place to staff to escape to on their lunch breaks, there's probably a consortium of BBC smokers who mingle there on a daily basic

I don't think moving the garden in its entirety was the best idea at all - they would've been far better off leaving the garden in London as it is and starting afresh in Salford! Any news on the time capsule? Has this been relocated?

I notice there’s plenty of decking, which is rather late 1990’s “Ground Force”. Also I hope they don’t present a completed garden when it’s unveiled as gardening is about a space growing and evolving over time. But with the lack of gardening items in the past series I would imagine it will be complete.

Shame that they ripped out Percy Thrower’s Italian sunken garden as that was the most iconic part of the space.

In the short term anyway. Long term, the BBC won't be there. TV Centre is up for sale, remember?
