There was also no mention of a Summer Expedition either Sad

They didn't mention the expedition last year and still went on one, though.

I'm sure they did, but they referred to it as a summer 'adventure'?

I'm inclined to think that there will only be 2 presenters in September? On Joel's last show, and on Zoe and Gethin's, the new presenters were mentioned. On Barney Harwood's blog he mentions that he is excited at moving to Salford with Helen - no other mention of a third presenter.
Does this sound a realistic thought? I think it makes a lot of sense nowadays.

But that means if one of them was away filming somewhere for example (there have been occasions in the past where this has lasted for several weeks), there would only be one presenter.

Whoever the new third presenter is won't be as high profile as Barney, who was an established CBBC star. Maybe that's why they didn't mention him. As for the garden, don't forget that BBC News is moving to Salford too, and Breakfast often uses the BP garden for weather forecasts.

Not sure how that would affect things.

No, it's moving to Broadcasting House. Only Breakfast is going to Salford.

I don't know why they're bothering. It's clearly a gesture towards the garden for those upset about losing the one on London - but it's hardly going to be the same. There won't be any real planting features or stuff like the pond, and there won't be the space to do stuff like the huge outdoor shows of the past.

I doubt Blue Peter will last much longer anyway. I'm sure that garden area will be used in the years to come here and there as a presentation area for various different shows.

I had similar thoughts about the future of the show when I was considering it the other day. Of course, I'll wait until September to see if I'm being over-the-top.

In 2000 Blue Peter buried a time capsual in the london garden, do you think they will leave it there (till its due to be dug up in 2029) or move it to Salford?

If it wasn't for the history of the show and the fact it would provoke such an outcry from those who have not seen the show for at least 30 years, I think the show would have been replaced with something with similar public service values but with a cooler name and newer packaging a long time ago. But then that would probably have been axed as well by now.

Well, I suppose one might look at shows like Xchange, Level Up and Do Something Different (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00720m1) and see examples of how this might have been done - but they've all been axed. Indeed, moving to Salford makes such an axing of Blue Peter easier.

Friday Download is a bit like those shows as well, saw that today and looked pretty good. Some possible cbbc presenters for the future?

Yeah I can defiantly see some of them being presenters in the future. But then again, some of them are a bit rusty when it comes to reading from the Auto Que.
