Blue Peter's studio at the moment is the garden, which is where today's guest was (they weren't in an indoor studio).

Blue Peter Monday 11 October
4:30pm - 5:05pm
BBC2
13/76, series 54
Andy Akinwolere takes on Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton in a driving challenge. Plus, the cast of The Sarah Jane Adventures is in the studio to share gossip about the new series, which starts on CBBC at 5.15.

Do we presume the " studio " is still going to be the garden?

I caught a bit of Blue Peter for the first time in a long time today. They've got something pretty substantial set up in the garden (well at least compared to what they used to have), not so sure it will look so great when the clocks go back and it'll be dark early, not to mention the increased layers of clothing and likely hood of rain.

Presumably as well as being a good way to save money it's great prep for when they move to Salford, supposedly they won't have a proper studio there, I could see them coming from a corner of an office or any other bit of space they can blag when they move up there.

Why is that?

Are you so naive to think that the BBC's new base in Salford will lack facilities to such an extent that 'Blue Peter' will be presented from the corner of an office?

Nothing to do with lacking facilities, Television Centre doesn't lack facilities but the programme is being presented from a garden! I'm pretty sure there was a rumour, on here probably, that they may not have a studio in Salford so like I said, this all could be in preparation for that (as well as being cost-cutting right now).

Salford Quays has studios being built - so why would Blue Peter not have access to one?

Not saying they wouldn't, it's just a rumour I read (I've tried searching but can't find anything) that they may not even use a studio when they move. The fact is, they're presenting the programme from the Blue Peter garden at the moment because its more 'cost-effective' and I think that says a lot.

Blue Peter will move in July of next year and a new garden for the show will either be built on a roof of a building or in a more accessible place at MediaCity, yet to be confirmed.

So The Garden wont be close like it was in London. So programmes could be based in the studio with VT's from the garden unless the entire programme comes from the garden.

New Studio, next year, Digital Spy actually quoted

According to The Guardian, Blue Peter will make the move in January 2011
I would assume that is a slight mistake unless mentioned on air.

So this could be the reason why we haven't a studio at the moment, perhaps its gone for good Sad

The garden can only be used if the weather permits them to, which means there must be an indoor studio available if they need to use it.

kernow: I can't believe they'd have a studio up and running 'just in case'.
