I think Blue Peter has definitely got better. The studio is amazing and the content is miles better and has more large scale features. The current presenting team in my opinion are first class and very 'to date' with today's youngters. I think with some more publicising and scheldule change to 5/5:30 pm, Blue Peter could easily hit the 1 million mark. As I've already mentioned, the studio is fantastic and very Blue Peter. I am glad they have moved away from the cold large studios with props littering the floor space in random places!! What are your thoughts on the current Blue Peter? Confused Very Happy

Joel has been doing his diving challenge in the Maldives so I doubt that he'll be back until next week. The black studio is actually thier old, huge studio. The have used this in both episodes this week as they have had large scale demonstrations (the t-rex on Tues and the ligthing experiment today). You may have notice that the highest platform in the studio (the platform the used to be the 'treehouse' with the wooden staris leading to it on the far right) also gets changed slightly when the go into a bigger studio. Do you like the studio TV magman?

Heres a capture from today.
It really shows how small the actual set is.

So is this the main studio showing how small amount of space they use, or is it a different studio as stated earlier?

It's their normal set in a large studio. The normal studio isn't much larger than the set.

The problem with the present fixed set is it lacks any flexibility. Previous sets have been designed so they could be altered to suit the content of each programme. Far from them being random pieces of set, the previous (one of the best in my opinion) reflected the sails of the Blue Peter ship.

The ethos of the Blue Peter set design was that it was pretty much a minimalist area where “anything could happen.”

Good to see them using TC1 this week although the present set did look odd in such a large space, though notice two of the ‘sails’ from the previous set in the right of the above capture.

Content wise the programme has improved from the rock bottom point it reached last year, though still not up there with the second golden era it had during the early and mid part of this decade. However the annual bathing the dogs was reintroduced in yesterday’s show.

I agree that the previous set (2004-2007) was amazing although it aged quite quickly. I have to say that the fixed set is good but more areas should be added. How about a permanent kitchen? They should make their set bigger, I agree but i believe they should keep the current look. I really like the seating area. Destignated areas like this make the show much more consistent.

I think the sails are awesome. I really loved them in the old studio as it was much more nautical. The pictures on mermaid designs website showed the sofa, however the sofa only lasted a few months before presenters sat on bean bags.

Who do I think is best at hosting: helen Skelton definitely. Followed by Joel and then Andy. The boys are rather equal. I expect Helen's jounalistic background (newsround presenter) has helped. Very Happy
