This year's Christmas edition was much improved on last year's effort. Many of the traditional elements were there, and the choir was a subtle nod to the tradition of carol singers. It was nice to see the return of presents for the pets and presenters - even if presents for the presenters were ended many years ago! It would be nice to see the set changed next series - could they have a more traditional set but just on a smaller scale in TC2?

Caught BP on Tuesday, and Joel was talking about Judaism, and his Jewish ancestory. Seemed a touch of the old BP spark had returned to me.

I caught that too and it was fantastic to see them touch upon a subject which just wouldn't be dealt with anywhere else on children's TV - and brilliantly well made too.

Well, I think I can spot one TV Forumer who reads the Daily Mail.
Come on Juggy, don't be ridiculous! You cant just use the Daily Mail to discriminate other forum members. It has nothing to do with the newspaper. It's fact, Blue Peter 'moved away' from any individualistic views on religion in recent years. It's good to see a more of a personal influence from the presenters, Blue Peter of old, and not the trashy crap we had the last few years that even the kids thought to be lame.

No, I'm not blaming it on the newspaper - I was using it to represent the way in which stevek expressed himself. 'Pander to extremists'? Of course I'm glad that we are seeing more willingness to talk about such things as religions, but the way stevek wrote was just like a 'Daily Mail' viewpoint.

It's a shame The Weakest Link came in and knocked down Blue Peter's ratings just as the programme found it's soul again, meaning another revamp is now impending, inspired by Top Gear.
