So this year's appeal is Mission Nutrition - holding Bring and Buy Sales to raise money for 3 charities to help across the world (or more specifically - 4 countries). Very Happy

Caught an episode of 'Dennis the Menace' on CBBC today, and it was all about Dennis winning a competition on Blue Peter. I thought the episodes were new for some reason, but was proved wrong when they did eventually get to Blue Peter to be met by Katy Hill. Turns out the episode was from 1998!

I remember that. They did a piece on Blue Peter about the making of it, I think Stuart did the piece, and then they recorded the voices, etc. Didn't they animate the old studio too?

Nice to see they're digging up the Bring and Buys again. I know we had a rash of them between 2001-2003 but it's nice to have a variation on the collecting theme of the last few years.

I was also very impressed with today's show, in terms of presentation, and I hope it was indicative of what the rest of the series has been like so far, as I've not seen many of them at all. Helen's trip to the hospital was very moving and I was howling at the underlying suggestion that all of Britain's domestic social problems could all be cured by a breakfast club Laughing

The animation was basic, so didn't really see any major set details. Nothing that i recognised anyway. Though you did see the Blue Peter logo a few times.

The did copy a few elements of the set. Instead of using the then current theme tune they actually used a snippet of the 1992 - 1994 theme tune.

Apparently there's a big change to the BP garden being revealed today - the biggest in 20 years they say.

EDIT: I should say that the programme is from the garden today, but lacks the atmosphere of previous bonfire shows due to the lack of people.

Really wasn't that much of a big change in the garden. Just a few wooden poles, slabs and plants to create something I suspect they'll hardly ever use.

Oh and they're 'so called' fireworks' we're just a few pyros in the new garden bit... spectacular it was not.

You're right, thought it might be something bigger. 'Fireworks' were crap. But at least they were in the garden.
