The BBC are playing this latest incident down, but it's galling this keeps happening. That's three bad moves now that happened under Richard Marson's stewardship - what else is being kept quiet?

I know he's left Blue Peter now - but is he still with the BBC.
Speaking of which, I find it quite ironic how the current "Head of Fiction" at the BBC is now favourite to replace Peter FIncham.
I agree with what's been noted about the set in the last week or so, we've definitely seen it open out and into more of a typical Blue Peter studio which I'm glad about. I also see that that (so much for the "new set") they've kept the old sail shaped units from the previous studio design. I wonder if that 1985 neon light ship display will creep up again in a year or so... it seems to be brough out of storage every few years!
I'm still not convinced about the new "yoof" style though... it's lost a lot of its classiness. I hate to say it, but I think they've dumbed down the one last quality programme on CBBC to appeal to the common market.
and the new closing credits (ironically the closing theme has remained more or less unchanged - unlike the opening!)

An item on today's
Blue Peter
was, you could say, especially blue... the dog was sniffing at a football being kicked around by a football, at which point Gethin Jones pulled her away and said 'I'm sorry, I just think Mabel really likes balls.'
Whoops...
Incidentally, never let it be said that
Blue Peter
's taboo against mentioning brand names has got out of hand - the footballer's badge obscured the Adidas logo on his shirt, which was also partially covered by a bit of what appeared to be gaffer tape.

Similarly I couldn’t give two hoots over whether Blue Peter used a couple of kids from a drama group in a question and answer session. Again, nobody was defrauded out of any money and did the two kids have a good time hanging out in the studio of a TV institution? I would say they probably did. What does make me angry is that shamed former editor of Blue Peter, Richard Marson, is routinely hung out to dry and used as a scapegoat. Witness this statement from Auntie in the wake of the latest supposed ‘scandal’:
“This latest episode happened when Richard Marson was on the programme. He has since been moved off the show and the programme has a new editor.”
Grrrr. Let’s get this straight, Richard Marson was a bloody good editor of Blue Peter that the show was lucky to have guiding it through a resurgence in popularity. Stop treating him like a criminal, and instead, lets start going after the real criminals involved in proper scandal and conspiracy in this era of TV deception.
Today’s programme was pretty bad. It's been two weeks since the new appeal was announced, but amusingly no mention of it in today’s programme…
I think the current state of Blue Peter is worrying and sadly reflects the current state of children's television. The studio size has been reduced, restricting the programme's creative ability and the emphasis on the ship logo seems to have been significantly reduced. Whilst these are relatively small differences, I think it shows programme producers are moving away Blue Peter's heritage, and I think this means we could be seeing the beginning of the end.
I think the current state of Blue Peter is worrying and sadly reflects the current state of children's television. Nearly a month after the launch of the Appeal, I've seen no mention of a totaliser. The Advent Crown also hasn't made an appearance yet, considering we're in December, the studio size has been reduced, restricting the programme's creative ability and the emphasis on the ship logo seems to have been significantly reduced. Whilst these are relatively small differences, I think it shows programme producers are moving away Blue Peter's heritage, and I think this means we could be seeing the beginning of the end.
The advent crown was seen on Tuesday when they set the first candle alight and talked about the studio decorations.
Also due to budget cuts this years totaliser has become computerised, removing the high price of producing a real life one compared to a cheap computer image.
