Don't know if anyone can confirm this, but on the Blue Peter website, they now have the music makers theme on their. Apparently this will be used this season in lead up to their 50th anniversary next year. Is this true? Hopefully after all that and then they didn't seem like it would be used
Yes, it is true. The Blue Peter theme will be changing to the music makers theme, with a new set of titles and set. It will be airing from whenever it starts this month.
That theme was cool - not sure why they ditched is so soon. I did like the 2004-2006 one too, but that again was used for very little time. No idea why they bothered to get Dave Cooke to remix the theme for 6 months from Jan '07 - June '07, seems pointless when they'd announced they would be using the Music Makers theme from September anyway.
This show needs some serious stability in its run up to the 50th birthday - shame the evergreen Konnie will be gone by then.
It's aiming to go back to that this series - hence the reduction to 2 episodes a week again, new theme, more quality content and less cheap filler stuff.

I quite liked during the Konnie, Simon, Matt, Liz stages how Monday was makes, adrenalin, news, wednesday was either specials on location or guests, and then friday became more entertainment with quizzes, pop bands and things like 'the quest'.
Yeh the Konnie/Simon/Matt/Liz era was a good one - the longest running unchanged team since the Val/Pete/John era and the quality of the programme shone through.
I doubt Konnie will be replaced - there just won't be the workload to warrant the continuation of four presenters.

Who was the first fourth presenter? As in the first to take the total number of main presenters to 4, was it Romanna, the women who Konnie replaced?
Thinking about it....
>Konnie, Zoe, Gethin, Andy
>Konnie, Matt, Gethin, Zoe
>Konnie, Matt, Liz, Zoe
>Konnie, Simon, Matt, Liz, Zoe
>Konnie, Simon, Matt, Liz
>Katy, Konnie, Simon, Matt
>Stuart, Katy, Konnie, Simon
>Stuart, Katy, Richard, Konnie
>Stuart, Katy, Richard, Romanna
>Tim, Stuart, Katy, Romanna
>Tim, Stuart, Katy
>Diane-Louise, Tim, Stuart
>Diane-Louise, Anthea, Tim
>John, Diane-Louise, Anthea
Is all of this correct, it's about as far back as I can remember.
