I suspect a fifth presenter will be bought in sooner rather than later though!
To be honest now the team has been well and truly broken up I think the sooner Konnie and Matt go the better, allowing a new team to be built around Gethin and Zoe.
When is this series of BP ending?
I know last year they bought in Gethin just after Easter and then strangely the series ended a couple of shows later and they went on their summer expedition, with the new series beginning early Summer.

Quite nice they're going back to the four-presenter line-up.

Yeh she is, as far as I know. Oh the irony that she's apparently tee-total.
Konnie joined in December 1997, so another 18 months and she's done a decade. Quite remarkable, considering.
Blue Peter took a new format last year and decided to capitalise on kids being at home during the summer so took their expedition early and launched the current series during the holidays, as opposed to at the start of September. However, I've read somewhere they're launching their new theme tune in line with the new series in September this year.
Looking forward to the new music, especially because it's being made by the viewers. I just hope they retain the traditional closing theme they re-introduced in 2004 in the new style.

I can't see them doing another new tune so soon after the last one, they generally go for about 4 or 5 years before it's redone, then again they keep having to change those titles to add and remove people!

Liz will not be replaced as the Blue Peter team will now return to being four strong - namely Konnie Huq, Matt Baker, Zoe Salmon and Gethin Jones.

After appearing in six series of the children's favourite, Liz Barker is to leave Blue Peter at Easter.
Liz said: "I've absolutely loved my time on the programme and I've done so much but now feels like the right time to say goodbye.
"My first challenge will be to move my family from London to Cambridgeshire, where I grew up. Blue Peter is brilliant but it leaves no room for anything else and there's loads more I'd still like to achieve."
Liz, who joined Blue Peter in June 2000, has packed in many adventures on the show – including lawnmower racing, para-gliding, braving the terrifying RAF 'inverted spin', walking the circus high wire, cleaning the windows of Canary Wharf, riding the world-famous Lippizanner horses and helping to win a bronze medal in the British bobsleigh championships.
She's reported from locations all around the world including Vietnam, Morocco, Brazil, Austria, Greece, India and the United States.
Liz was also the first Blue Peter presenter to carry on presenting the programme after her baby, Dexter, was born in 2004.
Blue Peter Editor Richard Marson said: "Liz is a very special presenter - completely natural and very caring. Audiences love her warmth and she has consistently surprised them - and herself - with her many achievements.
"Blue Peter has never been just a job or a career move for her. We are going to miss her very much and wish her the very best for her future."
Liz will not be replaced as the Blue Peter team will now return to being four strong - namely Konnie Huq, Matt Baker, Zoe Salmon and Gethin Jones.
Liz will make her last live appearance on Monday 12 April. A special Blue Peter, full of her many highlights, will be screened two days later.

Yes - for now! But once the workload piles up they'll bring in a fifth! I'd bet my Blue Peter badge on it!
