Gosh, I never start threads. A new experience for me!

I've asked about this before but I guess the topic was dismissed as it didn't feature the BBC, ITN or Sky.
But does anyone else think the Bloomberg music and idents are just fantastic?

I've uploaded a bit of the music used on the morning programme, 'On the Money'.
The weekend music is even better, although I haven't got that in mp3 yet.
I much prefer the presentation to any of the major broadcasters.
CNBC also have fantastic music, we really should be giving them more time.
After all, this is a presentation forum, not just a forum for the big three broadcasters!!

Well this is shocking, isn't it.
Why does everyone seem to ignore threads that are nothing to do with the big 3?
Am I talking to myself, or are we just going to carry on worshiping only 3 companies instead of opening the debate up to smaller ones, with better presentation.

I'll join in!

Yeah, I like Bloomberg's presentation, although I haven't watched it for a while. I like the idea of displaying the different bits of information on the screen at the same time - useful for a quick update. CNBC do the same thing I've noticed. I used to watch the NBC Nightly News on CNBC @ 11:30 for a while - was quite keen on its presentation. Only gripe is that they devote about 5 hours on Sat and Sun to golf!

I think that scrolling tickers displaying information is something that more of the bigger broadcasters should get into. I know BReakfast does it first thing but I'm never up in time to see it. Sky did it during the election and I like the one on Active.

However, I also think there should be the option to turn the ticker off with a quick press of the back-up button removing it from the screen like with Active bugs.

I don't like all these tickers - on bloomberg I can hardly see the presenter and the tickers are off putting.

If you are in business the data screen, as Bloomberg call it, is increadibly useful.
CNBC have been doing the ticker thing for ages now.

I'm sure it's interesting to business people but Working Lunch is about as far as my Financial Knowledge goes - and I have trouble with some of that sometimes

Tickers are great for business channels, all of them have one. I wouldn't put a ticker on a regular news channel though, it can get annoying IMO.
I'm also not crazy about how Bloomberg and CNBC etc take up so much of the screen with their graphics -- but i can understand why

I just saw a new promo for the new-look Headline News -- it looks amazing btw, especially the studio, but they had a quick few shots with the graphcis, and the screen is split in half! The whole bottom half of the screen has a plethora of tickers and info - whilst the top half obviously has the presenter or video -- but that idea is probably good for what type of channel Headline News is

Oh, and on tickers again, FNC has a ticker at the bottom of it's screen for about a minute after commercial breaks -- it gives info like news headlines, and what's coming up later in the day on FNC.

And I did like Bloomberg's music. I currently don't get Bloomberg here, oh well - i see promos for it on CNN and other news channels a lot though.
Question: is the Bloomberg you get a UK/Europe version or is the US version (I know tat CNBC simulcast some of the American CNBC programmes)

The Bloomberg we get is Bloomberg UK. It's broadcast from London.
The CNBC we get is CNBC Europe, which is also from London but is not a UK focused channel. It covers the whole of Europe.

It looks as though CNBC Europe are planning big changes to their studios, as they are currently in a temporary home too!

BTW, for those fans of NBC news' music, I found this site of an entire collection of a CD of NBC's music

Here's the linkNBC Music

Not all of the stuff used here is used on air, not a lot of it actually…

The 4th Track ('The Mission' 0.30) is basically the NBC Nightly News music
The 6th Track (The Mission 0.15) is the Today show's music

I have another request -- does anyone have MSNBC's music from their launch? It circulated around Napster for a while. but that's gone now.
I had it but I lost all of my files on my computer -- so if anyone has it could you e-mail me them? Thanks (BTW, from my memory there were two tracks. one for 1.00 and the otehr for 0.30) Thanks again

The tickers are useful, but do they have to put up 2 of them and run them at different speeds? That really ticks me off!

They show the different markets -- i don't know which is which, but on CNBC one's the NYSE and the other's NASDAQ and some other stuff.
If your a business person I'm sure it's a big help
