I'm actually quite pleased that CC have went for, I'm hoping anyway a proper opening theme and which on the face of it, sounds very good indeed.
It's certainly better than the Rage Music arrangement...

I think there's only the major gameshows where you can win bucketloads of money (ie over £5k for example) that contestants take totally seriously. Everything else is treated as a "just for fun" experience and if you come away with a couple of hundred quid or a Bendy Bully or whatever, that's nice. If you win Only Connect or whatever, that's an achievement and a major kudos boost for a while but it won't change your life.
The more reality based shows like BGT and X Factor where okay you're effectively hoping for a livelihood (albeit it most often a short one though there are exceptions to this - Susan Boyle for example) then of course you're going to take the auditions and the events seriously if you want a shot of getting picked.

I just hope they don't ruin the format in the process. There's a risk it could become a bit of a car crash, with the game not being taken seriously.
Comedy Central isn't really the sort of channel where you would normally expect to see a show like Blockbusters.
Given that it's on at eight o'clock on Comedy Central, it's evidently been formatted to be more entertainment driven than your typical daytime game show.

So, the changes:
- £20 per correct answer, £50 for each answer on the Gold Run if a player fails to make it across
- Only 2 rounds are played. If there's a tie, there's a one question shootout (called the 'Hexagon Standoff') - a wrong answer here means the other team win by default.
- In the Gold Run, there's a choice of 2 categories (tonight's were 'Things found in the Natural History Museum', and 'Things found in my pocket'
- Consolation prizes are a hoodie and a reusable water cup.

Looks slick and pretty, can't really fit any more hexagons on the set if they tried, but seems to be a trend of the Blockbusters revivals after the ITV years where the hexagons were relatively subtle, now they're totally in your face at every turn.
Takes cues from all histories, using the blue and yellow from the original years and the animations that featured on the Simon Mayo version. Board doesn't use the "digital" typeface of the original and the Mayo years but it seems to match the new non-digital score counters.
Pity the format has been tampered with as there is no "decider game" after one game each, instead its a Hexagon Standoff instead. The Gold Run gets a category selection too but its the same principle (just in different colouring). And also the episode rollover has been scrapped! Each episodes is now self-contained. Not quite sure how I feel about that, since it was a principle from the very off. Still it was Quiz Wizard on the theme so it wasn't throwing all the traditions out and it was a semi-decent version.
Not sure if I want to be disappointed or not really about this. Maybe I'll feel different after an episode or two.

It's been done by Marc Sylvan and Richard Jacques so not surprising that it is semi decent.
It well and truly threw me off that they aren't rolling over the contestants to the next show. They've also done away with the 'bings' when a contestant gets a question right.
I'll reserve judgement property until a few episodes and see where I go from there.
