Just how many answers to questions for X are there?

What 'X' is a percussion instrument whose name derives from the Greek words meaning 'Wooden Sound'?
What 'X' means an unreasonable fear of foreigners or strangers or of that which is foreign or strange?
What 'X' is a piece of medical equipment which uses electromagnetic radiation to examine a patients bone structure?
What 'X' is a part of the DNA that determines someone's gender?
What 'X' is the highest classification of film used between 1951 and 1982 which may only be shown in licensed cinemas?
What 'X' is a term given to insects that bore or cut wood?
What 'X' is a term that can given to any one of the three metameric radicals, CH2.C6H4.CH2?
What 'X' can be coarse herbs having small heads of greenish flowers or a genus of composite plants?

There are many more questions that can be used too.

Xylophone
Xenophobic
X-ray
X Chromosomes
X-rated
Xylotomous
Xanthium

Someone did a good mock-up of a 2011 Blockbusters title sequence a few months ago. How will the real one compare?

I am not usually impressed by mocks, but I have to say that if I were Challenge, I'd be contacting the producer of this particular one. I think it'd work perfectly -- exactly the sort of remake I'd expect Challenge to do and it'd save them a fortune.

This slightly more "colourised" version by the same user is even better, although I prefer
the the theme arrangement from the first one.

I beg to differ because if they were the titles, I'd be the first to say they looked cheap and terrible. They're good for a mock but as the actual titles for the new series and not created by someone in their spare time for fun you'd lambast them.

Probably they only have the rights to the gameshow format itself from the US - not any elements created by Central, who knows though.

Oh I dunno, it's gone full circle now.
The original (American) show was a Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Productions, and over the years due to the deaths of Todman and Goodman, the company has since ended up in the hands of FremantleMedia, of which Talkback Thames is a division.

I notice he's also created a HD version of them.
As a concept, it stands up. Give that to Liquid Tv or Jump Desgin, and they could do something very nice with that.

Begs an interesting question about the Blockbuster revival though.
I assume it'll recorded in HD, yet unless Sky do something with Challenge - it'll be broadcast in SD. So unless they repeat them on Sky1, it'll be one of the few series that will only get an HD airing on it's repeat on another channel.

Blockbusters first broadcast could be SKY One HD then Challenge a year later Wink

I think the HD version or at least the first episode(s) would be on Sky Anytime HD. I'm sure it will be repeated for years to come anyway so making it in HD will be an investment for the future even if most people watch in on Challenge in SD at first.

On the other hand, we could be left with just SD versions of Blockbusters forever more even is it is made in HD just like we are stuck with 14:9 versions of Bullseye even though it was made in 16:9.

Or, it may just be made in SD 16:9 of course.
