The pace of the show has definitely picked up, the first episode dragged slightly but the pace of the game when it's in motion is actually just as fast now as it was on the original show.
With regards to the questions, they're only easy if you know the answer, but the difficulty level is probably just about right as it stands. It's a fine line to walk, fall one way and you're into Mastermind terrority, fall the other way and you hit "Is East Anglia a country?" type of questions.
The only issues I have at the moment with the show, as previously stated is overuse of theme in the game, the Gold Run spot (should be a step to my mind, not just a big hexagon in the middle of the floor) and the board as a whole does not flash blue or white during a game, it should simply be a "flashing blue/white light", not a "flashing blue/white board".
this is semantics we sort of know what simon means and what is occurring , seemingly the best attempt yet to resurrect and continue/restart the show with only necessary modern changes such as simo himself ad filming for hd widescreen, etc
Just seen the interview with Simon on their website... was the women [Shay] ever actually in the studio for this segments? She just seems to be green screened in for everything!
Interesting point I have to make, are they doing 3 Gold Runs or 5 Gold Runs? I'm sure Simon said in the first episode that there was 3 Gold Runs, yet yesterday's episode that guy won his 3rd but is still playing?

I don't recall him saying 3, but wasn't it 3 in the original series?
No it was five but for S7 - jan 1990 onwards it was reduced to three. Itv believed kids wanted to see more big holiday winners, and has nothing to do with cost cutting.
