Konnie Huq has been on Blockbusters before of course:

I have to say the set is rather... compact.

I imagine a decent camera lens will make it look a lot bigger.

They showed a clip from that episode, which probably came from the same youtube clip, because it featured the same challenge+1 logo.

A lot was made of the fact that Konnie looks exactly the same now as she did 20 years ago.

They obviously don't, otherwise they would have used it instead of the YouTube clip. It's possible that the clip will be replaced when the programme is broadcast of course. It will look rather odd to see it with two Challenge DOGs.

Must, there have been playing out the master tapes from 1992 on Challenge... Confused

The new series is being produced by Thames, so I am assuming that just because the programme is being broadcast on Challenge, the producers won't necessarily get access to programmes which Challenge holds. It may be the case that Challenge is not allowed to provide the footage, as they don't hold the copyright.

It looks like another case of the producers choosing the easy option of obtaining footage from youtube, rather than going through the process of obtaining footage from the company which holds the archive.

Talkback Thames have?

Blockbusters is made by Talkback Thames. Challenge is played out by Sky, probably.

It is indeed played out and uplinked by Sky at Osterley - and has been since February 1st last year (the feed was down for 3 hours while they moved from Red Bee, and when they came back the DOG was different and the other presentation was out-of-proportion/shatliffed).

Promos have begun on Challenge for Blockbusters. They feature people humming the theme tune, then Simon Mayo popping up saying "You know how it goes" followed by a quick burst of the refreshed theme tune. Sadly, no video, but the theme tune sounds really good.

Anybody ever noticed how you can always see the edge of the set on the left hand side of the screen during the titles in the old Blockbusters episodes shown on Challenge these days? This probably wasn't noticeable in its original airings on ITV in the days when everyone would have had 4:3 TVs.
