I went along to the recording yesterday afternoon, was quite good fun but a contestant called Neil is a bit of a 'try-hard' to be funny and smart... he failed spectacularly on both counts.
The warm-up guy ran a quiz during filming to fill up the breaks and I won a Challenge/blockbusters baseball cap!
Thinking about it I cant recall Mayo actually saying 'Challenge' in the programme, which I guess helps for the future as Sky often change the name of channels frequently

I wish asked people in advance to ask who composing the theme, and also who the producers are.
They didn't roll the credits on the screens while the closing theme was playing so we'll have to find out whether Ed Welsh has done this version when it goes to air in May.
What, precisely, might you miss from it never being aired in HD?
You miss nothing, bar the higher definition.
Well that's the point really, it's hardly too much of a shame is it?
HD isn't significantly going make the viewing experience of a sat behind the desk gameshow like Blockbusters that much greater.
My comments were simply a follow up to JasonB's comment on how it looked great in HD, and it being a shame that we wouldn't be able to see it. I don't particularly care for it, or think that it would benefit in anyway, it's just a shame that we won't see it if as according to JasonB, it did look great.

what I meant was someone actually asking one of the crew member, and maybe even asking for a copy
Just out of the recording and can I just say, it was a very good recording indeed. Simon does the job perfectly and really did feel like we were back in the 1990s. They rolled the credits on screen today and the music is absolutely perfect in every way. I did keep a look out for the composer and low and behold it is Ed Welch that has composed it.
And Challenge was also mentioned today, Simon said at the end of one the shows 'Join us next time on Challenge for more Blockbusters'.
I think people will be absolutely impressed when they see it in a couple of months!

I think then someone is using the original music package, as I said the chances are it will be ed, so Thank you for confirming it!

Just like old times then! There was always one or two people on the show who would try to be a smartass, and fail miserably.
As far as contestants go, what sort of age ranges were there? Was it all adults, or were there some teenagers on the show too?
The titles have been shortened down like the game show marathon version they do feature hexagons and a large human head? They were a blink and miss them thing for me and on the break bumpers it says "ALL NEW Blockbusters" Gaz, are the closing titles like the original with the game board to the side?
