The set is a repeclia of the original set (except a bit updated) The contestents desk is spot on complete with hexagons and Simon has the new blockbusters logo on his.

What about the polystyrene figureheads? Are they on the new set?

No Polystyrene figureheads on this set. That's the only thing missing and were the first thing I looked out for when I entered the studio but apart from that it looks very good on screen and in HD!

I believe it was Ray Turner, he also warms up for The Cube and Who Wants to be a Millionaire. (twitter post here:https://twitter.com/#!/Rayturner157/status/168255146684465153)He was pretty good and gives quite an amusing running commentary when they're setting up games or getting ready to film a segment.

I wish I got tickets now, I just wish it was nearer to me!

That's the guy, he mentioned that he did the cube duirng a take. He also gave some rather amusing commentarys to some crew members standing next to the game board and he always managed to get a joke in about Thurrock! Laughing

There's only one game board which is opposite the audience.

Just a shame that unless it's aired on another Sky channel or available in HD on anytime that we will be unable to see it in HD. I suppose it's always future proofed incase Challenge has a HD feed one day. Though I can only see that happening if they produce more original content also in HD. I suppose that may depend on the success of blockbusters.

What, precisely, might you miss from it never being aired in HD?

You miss nothing, bar the higher definition.

Well that's the point really, it's hardly too much of a shame is it?

HD isn't significantly going make the viewing experience of a sat behind the desk gameshow like Blockbusters that much greater.

Well if the set is made for HD, the graphics, titles etc, then it will just look horrible watching it in SD with all those artefacts and blurry pixels.

Jason, did you see the opening titles at all?

(Last question, I promise)

I have a couple of questions too. Was there any sign of a viewer competition? Was there any reference to Challenge [TV] during the programme at all?

Surely especially somewhere like Sky, HD production is just standard now? I.e. it'd be more effort to not make it in HD, despite the broadcast channel only being SD.

Just a very quick update, just away to head into the 2pm recording so I'll be giving an update when I'm out of the recording! Smile

Maybe I've missed this before, Gaz, but what's your job?
