If Bullseye taught me one thing, it was that when a show is revived on Challenge, they are very similar to their originals. Alas, it seems to have happened again.

It's gonna be well wicked.

Apparently the font on the game board they were going to use was a bit 'meh', as it were, so last week someone working on the graphics side of the show asked for scans of my fabled letter slides to make a new font from - knew they'd come in useful one day!

But essentially that's what they are doing, keeping things like the originals because that's what they do - nostalgia. In truth a revival of Bullseye or Blockbusters probably does better than commissioning and making an entirely new format (only Take it Or Leave has come anywhere near being successful out of quite a few Challenge commissioned shows).

Personally I'm quite pleased they haven't tried to make a completely updated version, the BBC and Sky have both tried that. They didn't work because they didn't have Bob Holness presenting, really it was him plus only having sixth form students playing that made it cult viewing, if Bob had decided to step down after a few years I don't think it would have lasted beyond a couple more series.

That was more of a joke though really for Chris Moyles listeners wasn't it? I recall the advert for it taking the piss out of Challenge and their ratings!

What is this all about? Is there something I should hear?

It used to be on the chrismoyles.net website but since the revamp I can't find it anymore.

I just found it on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/all_comments?v=FXs5--TTyR4

I have never heard of it or seen it before. What is the story behind it? I guess it has loads of in-jokes because it isn't very funny on it's own merit. Was it actually ever shown on Challenge?

as far as I can remember it was simply a case that Comedy Dave came up with a terrible quiz concept and kept banging on about it on the radio, then Challenge in a clever little publicity stunt offered to make a "pilot" for them for some cheap ratings.

Yay @ the Telewest logo on the endcap of course

Good ol' Telewest.

I remember babysitting for my cousin who had Cable back then, and I would watch my BBC News 24 flags, and on Challenge TV I would watch Endurance UK.
