Are the people who have got tickets practising their hand jive? We don't know yet if they will bring it back, we don't even know if they will bring Quiz Wizard or any of the other Central elements back but I think it would be wise to practice. You'll want to get the moves right before turning up on the day and making a wallyhead out of yourself.

Don't worry, I'm sure they'll have a choreographer on hand to help out. If they don't, you should phone them up and offer your services.

How far are Sky Studios? Booked a ticket myself, if it's too far out I might have to cancel.

Sky is slightly fiddly, but easier than Pinewood or Shepperton to get to from Central London

Easiest way is to get to a train from Waterloo, and get off at Syon Lane (it's the half hourly slows via Brentford), turn left after stairs out of the station and walk through the subway (which goes under the Great West Road) and you will have the old Gillette building in front of you, turn right (as if you are heading back towards London) and the road to Harlequin 1 should be signposted fairly soon afterwards.

Getting back - H91 bus from the same side of the road, back to Hammersmith. Jump on the tube from there.

Since Sky now own Challenge, wouldn't they be able to show their 1994 and 2000 series?

For the 1994 series, I expect they would have to purchase the rights from ITV in the same way as they would for any other series. Sky didn't make the 1994 series, they just broadcast it.

I believe the recording of Challenge's Blockbusters starts a week tomorrow. Could it be tomorrow that we find out who the presenter is going to be? On the other hand, maybe we will only hear from people in the audience once the recordings start next week.

Simon Mayo confirmed as host. Great choice.

That's actually quite a good choice I think. I listen to Kermode and Mayos film review on Five Live and Simon has just the right amount of dry wit and intelligence to fit this presenters role. Very good choice.

I am sure the new board will be computer generated rather than a myriad slide projectors!

From reading that article, this sounds really promising. In fact to promising if I'm honest. However I'll find out for sure next Monday when I go to the recording.

Please don't.

Meh. Not that thrilled about Simon Mayo. He was fairly dull as host of Winning Lines.

At least he's a proper presenter, in the old-fashioned quizmaster style (and I thought he was good on Winning Lines - presumably left as perhaps someone thought it clashed with his "serious news" role at 5 Live? not that Richard Bacon has a problem with that). I wouldn't have put it past Sky to put Jeff Brazier or someone like that in the role..
