According to the BBC News article there will be a 19th series so maybe they will get Trisha to do it? I never liked the show (mostly due to inheriting my mum's dislike of Cilla Black) but the contestants always seemed to me to have such huge overinflated egos with so very little to be egotistical about! Then when they met they'd go on their holiday and come back and bitch about each other.
EDIT: There's a topic about Without Prejudice so I've moved my comments about it there.
Of course there has to be another series after all how are ITV going to ruin a once great game show.
Erm "once great game show", we are talking about Blind Date what were you talking about? It is and has been for about 18 years now, time to axe it.
I can't even believe that ITV1 are considering finding another presenter to replace Cilla on BD. It would be a bit like asking someone to replace Denis Norden as host of It'll Be Alright on the Night if he ever decided to quit doing it.
It can't be done; Denis is associated with IBAOTN much the same way as Cilla is with Blind Date. If they did find a replacement for Cilla they'd finish up being compared to her, which wouldn't be fair. It was very much Cilla's show; to steal her phrases, they've all had a "lorra lorra fun" and "a lorra lorra laughs" over the past 18 years, and now that Cilla's going, it also might be the time to say "Tara chuck" and let BD go.

Indeed Steven, can't Granada think of any more original ideas?
I'm sure they'll fill the slot with an hour of You've Been Framed - A real ratings winner.

Well your entitled to your own opinion but this show like or not was fine with the original rules to the show and still got decent viewing figures. But no ITV have to do change things they axe the best announcer our Graham and introduce these pathetic rules. Cilla was the only decent thing the show had left and now she has gone ITV should put it out of its misery and axe it. Best of luck to Cilla on what she plans to do next.
Why the hell does Media Guardian have to completely misuse ratings figures???
According to MG, Blind Date's ratings have fallen dramatically from 17 million to less than 4 million!
No, this is b*ll*cks. Ratings were at 17 million for Blind Date's peak, and when it was screened against EastEnders on Christmas Day, it got 3.7 million.
Every Saturday it gets around 7.7 million, not "less than 4 million".

I think is absolutely wrong to continue Blind Date without Cilla, why can't ITV1 just axe the bloody show now, can't ITV1 come up with anything to replace it!
Some days, I just want to put a rocket up the big guys at ITV1!

"Cilla is a sacred cow. Without her we won't go on."
"Well, the show must go on."
*Contradiction alert!*
At the start of the current run, I disagreed with comments that BlindDate was past it's sell by date.
However, without Cilla it won't be the same. I think now BlindDate should be axed.
Anyway, wasn't Cilla planning another exciting installment of 'Surprise Surprise' last year?
