QVC is having a Black Friday event, so there have promos and i dare say other pres.
Does anyone know of any other pres? I doubt ITV2 will have an ident of people fighting for stuff but maybe we might see something?
Just a hunch, but I think it's going to be limited to adverts for shops and shopping channels.
Speaking of which, banned member David posted a video last year of Bid doing a Black Friday event; I think it's the right moment to mourn the loss of Bid with this opportune video:
I don't think most people in this country even know what Black Friday is. A pre-christmas shopping promo primarily in the US is hardly the sort of thing channels are going to start changing their pres for.

We never know, next week it could get even bigger and we might start to see more tv pres. Of course British Black Friday is the last friday before xmas were eveyone goes out for drinks.

Well, the Christmas lights switch on in Hull is tonight, and that's two weeks later than usual. The switch on is also when late night shopping in the city centre starts, so I'm blaming Black Friday for this. Seems that the local council doesn't realise that Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, and not related to the pre-Christmas late night shopping tradition at all.

I usually gauge this sort of thing on whether my parents know about it - and they do. But they know about every big sale that goes on. It's ridiculous to think it would be celebrated in a channel's presentation. We don't celebrate the January sales, after all.

Black Friday is what we used to get in the proper January sales. Back in the day IBA etc would have hit the roof with tv stations were to promote Shopping.
Still the best promo campaign ever associated with Big Broter.
Don't think the public will be conned by this whole Black Friday nonsense - the reason they haven't sold out of Christmas stuff by the end of November is because it's bloody November!!!
