Should Central have opted out of network programming to go to the CN Newsdesk to bring us breaking news updates a la September 11 with ITN? Methinks they should have, if there's any regionality left in ITV1, but of course, there isn't!

You are assuming that there are presenters and journalists in a regional television newsroom at midnight on a saturday!?
ITN and BBC national newsrooms are staffed.... local ones aren't and probably have never been

obviously it would have been nice - but i also guessed the newsroom would have been empty since about 6pm on a saturday.
there would have been more chance of an opt out on a week night where there is a presenter milling around and a staffed newsroom till late.
bomb warnings in northern ireland are phoned to UTV , does anyone know where the call went this time?
