Did anybody see Phillippa Thomas this afternoon on the News 24 special from New York? She was FABULOUS!!! I think big things are around the corner for her...how about a nice little presenting job on N24 full time?

If she were any more wooden she would be sprouting branches!

She's previous BBC DC Corresp & returned to UK at election to become N24 special corresp
Yep - Philippa is definitely a rising star. She is currently BBC News 24s 'Special Correspondent'.
Thought she did pretty well anchoring an hour long special in New York - must be pretty hard work with no autocue and a HUGE delay on talkback, especially when interviews between her in New York and Ben McCarthy at the New York Stock Exchange are done via London - the delays on the sound on that are huge - especially with digital links now in use (One hop is typically 1.5-3' - there are up to 4 hops in some of the interviews today)
Celebrity footnote - Philippa is married to Richard Lister, they worked together at the BBC Washington bureau, and married just before the terrible floods in Mozambique, which they both covered I think.
Anyobe know why there is no logic to their captions above the boxes they use when Philppa interviews correspondents. For instance they had Phillipa in New York interviewing Michelle in Times Square. But isn't Times square in the heart of New York. They then interviewed someone at the US capitol which the labeled as US capitol, but then did Richard Lister at the pentagon which they labeled as washington when we all know the pentagon is actually over the river in Arlington, Virginia.

Isn't Richard Lister still a Washington Correspondent? With Philippa based in London is it a long-distance marriage!?
