This year it's time for Comic Relief once again - 16th March 2007 is the date for your diary.

While Children in Need might as well repeat the same programme each year, Comic Relief is generally pretty original each year and also has some great programming in the lead up to the event itself.

Anyone got more info - pretty sure I've heard Peter Kay is doing the single (again)!

I've had 2 emails form Comic Relief (which is odd considering I don't recall signing up to any mailing list). The first gave details of the theme and the - rather crap - new nose. The second was about the TV shows. Fame Academy will be back, plus there's Celebrity Apprentice. Apparently the telethon itself will be radically different next year. But that is from 'The Sun' so take it with a pinch of salt. Richard Curtis is quoted as saying "we're going to completely re-invent the telethon as we know it".

The last one was a radical revamp too. To be fair no two are the same - IIRC last time they had fewer presenters than normal rather than changing every hour or so - and although they had slots, they did pop up throughout the night too.

I think Jonathan Ross and Lenny Henry hosted the primetime block, with Graham Norton and Chris Evans fronting after the news.

I knew I'd heard something - that was Celebrity Apprentice. I'd be surprised if they did Fame Academy as well - the joke of that wore off a long time ago!

Hope CBBC make the effort too - wouldn't surprise me at all if their contribution slowly disappeared but when I was a kid the nights events always began with a pretty decent show from CBBC in the afternoon.

Well Comic Relief don't consider it too early to release the news, so it's not to early to start the thread if you ask me! Smile
