According to the Daily Mail, Jim Rosenthal is both presenter and commentator.

Thats right. He is commentator with Ricky Hatten as co-comentator. Currently 12-8 to Khan with 1 round to go

The ads will annoy people. They squeezed in two 40-second breaks at the end of round 1 and 2.

These short breaks work well for cricket, but a bit unneccesary in an event that lasts 20 minutes - especially when the ad break before it was panned out with ITV trailers.

On another note, if they can do these short breaks (with no stings, no sponsorship) for this, why not for F1?

I expect there is less money in Boxing than in Motor Racing. The sponsor of the F1 probably specifies their sting to be shown each time.

The rights to Boxing is probably much cheaper for ITV1 as well.

One positive, at least these short breaks didn't feature the Crazy Frog, probably the only two breaks that haven't tonight!

The short breaks between rounds are nothing new- ITV did it in the old days of The Big Fight, remember those 'Empress' adverts?

ITV gets lots of stick, but for once let's congratulate ITV on a job well done, it really went well I felt. Let's have more of the same please!

If tonight's ratings were good it makes the situation very interesting indeed.

Yes...ITV did a good job tonight! The ads didn't bother me at all and it was class when Khan came to the ringside to the tune of 'Amarillo'. Jim was on top form presenting and commentating and the interviews were conducted well and there was smooth presentation throughout.

Only dissapointing bit was the original theme tune was not used and Reg Gutteridge and Gary Newbon did not put in an appearance. Crying or Very sad

ITV ought to really try and get more boxing matches for a Saturday night and bring The Big Fight Live back more often than once in 7 years or so. Tonights fight, although only amateur, was really enjoyable and fresh for terrestrial television and ITV put on a professional and accomplished production. Very Happy

More of the same please? Confused:

Any idea of the viewing figures?

This is probably a tester for future boxing rights on ITV.

I know Kahn has turned pro, but has he signed with ITV?

Good figures. This shows that there is an audience for mainstream boxing, but apart from Kahn, who is big enough to get a similar audience?

Ricky Hatton and Joe Calzaghe would get similar figures, I also believe Scott Harrison would given the chance.

I became disenchanted with boxing long ago. politics, promoters and TV deals often prevent the best boxers in a division fighting each other, and there are so many organisations and belts these days that the term 'world champion' has become irreversably devalued. Amir Khan is still young and learning his trade. he should have waited until after bejing 2008 to turn pro. his idea of retiring at 25 is pie in the sky. He should remember that there are several world championship belts, but only one olympic gold medal. Another sell out, what a shame.

ITV are apparently very close to agreeing a deal with Frank Warren's Sports Network, which will bring Hatton, Calzaghe, Harrison, Williams, Skelton and many others to ITV screens, giving boxing some high- profile terrestrial exposure.

The Khan fight on ITV last month was a great success and good on ITV for making a serious comeback to boxing.
