Perhaps not, but he would attempt to cook it on a welder's bench using a blowtorch, and serve in a feathered trilby.

Nice line - except that he didn't... The "In Search of Perfection" series was really interesting - and whilst I don't think it was suggested that anyone would be able to replicate some of the results at home - it wasn't as OTT as people are making out in presentation.

Noggin - don't tread on my gag with your facts. Wink

I've seen Heston's innovative ideas.. such as trying to make icecream taste like egg and bacon and including Liquid Nitrogen for "effect" but he's not for Little Chef. To be honest, I'm surprised any LC's are still going. In my area alone within the past 5 years 2 Little Chefs have closed down (as an actress said to the bishop..!).

I think it's too late to save them now whatever his cause.

It did in fact bet CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER, and got more viewers for that week,

1 BIG CHEF TAKES ON LITTLE CHEF (WED 2100) 4,312000's
2 BIG CHEF TAKES ON LITTLE CHEF (TUE 2101) 4,013000's
3 CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER (FRI 2159) 3,654
4 BIG CHEF TAKES ON LITTLE CHEF (MON 2101) 3,502000's
5 CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER (MON 2203) 3,417000's
6 DISPATCHES (THU 2001) 3,393000's
7 CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER (FRI 2029) 3,292000's
8 CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER (WED 2203) 3,200000's
9 CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER (THU 2100) 2,837000's
10 CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER (TUE 2204) 2,712000's

so it seems to have got the viewers in, and it seems to have pick up viewers!

Did you miss the one where he made a makeshift tandoor out of a kettle barbeque and some bricks "because people at home need to be able to do this"? [I paraphrase the quote, but the gist is accurate]

Though arguably that was much easier to replicate than some of the recipes that required industrial catering products that aren't available in supermarkets.

I've actually had some of Heston's stuff - and no I didn't go to one of his restaurants - and the stuff he does with Liquid Nitrogen and lime zest sprays is truly amazing. It is unlike anything I've ever eaten before or since - and was really amazing.
