Here's a thread ofr discussing the planned overhaul of the ITV identity.
New thread started due to the other being closed.
Any news, suggestions or thoughts on the ITV rebrand? I know a good discussion was going on regarding how the ITV News will fit in to the equasion if the rumours are true about the blue and yellow being dropped.
So get discussing - and no spelling discussion is allowed!
As you say yourself, how ITV news is going to cope i don't know. Not to mention the regional ITV news studios who don't have that much money, and are based on the blue and yellow theme. Some of them are heavily based on the 4 blocks as well, i.e. the Channel one. If they were to remove the blocks from the set, it would look like they've removed them.

With the regional studios though it should be pretty easy to change the new generic sets without much work. Change the graphics on the plasmas/backdrops and the background colour scheme. Probably doable in a couple of hours.
I don't understand why ITV feel they need to wholesale change things every few years though -- it is this change which is contributing to any perceived lack of identity, so they should keep with what they have and update it. But of course their main problem is making too many low-grade derivative programmes, and not having enough faith in the few genuinely innovative ones to keep them going for more than a few episodes.
