Anyway last year £244,208 was given to charity with 10p from each vote going to charity. That means around 2.4m votes were cast for the whole of BB8, however it is worth noting that BB8 was the first series without text and red button voting.

Where did you get that figure from, and have you got the figures from BB7, CBB5 and Celeb Hijack?

It's difficult to judge the voting trends now - the last time figures were released were for the BB6 final, which got around 6m - and it's fair to say they've fallen since then.
Generally speaking though the finals got as many votes as the total voters cast during the season, so even if voting had fallen by half in the last few years, I'd still expect at least 5-6m votes to be cast each year - but I'd have thought it would be nearer the 10m barrier myself.
