Although it wasent a big beating. I notice the press don't go wild when Big Brother beats ITV 1 and BBC One like last night, but focus when BB gets beat.

As for the ratings for this year, i'm glad they have been consistant, down but consistant.

Very close vote tonight, Lisa was evicted with 52.6% of the vote.

Even Davina said the producers held a crisis meeting, discussing what they'd do if the vote was tied.

Amused at how everyone in the final nearly got their asses booed... well that's the publics fault for once again kicking out the interesting ones early on!!!

What do you mean even Davina? She is the first person I would expect to lie like that.

Wasn't as close as they made out - there have been at least 10 evictions which were closer in terms of percentage, the closest being a difference of just 0.08% in BB3 when Alison was evicted - 1027 votes between her and Alex.

For tonight's to be closer it would mean only 20,000 votes were cast - highly unlikely. Ten times that number would be a very conservative estimate, which would mean at least 10,000 votes between the two.

If memory serves me right i think Davina was talking about during the week it had gotten so close.

Lets not forget only 2m votes were cast throughout the whole of BB8 so its perfectly logical that only around 200,000 votes were cast this week. That means just 200 votes would be 1%. In previous years 2m votes alone were cast for one housemate in the final week.

I'm not sure who likes bookies odds, but there has been a major shake up so I'll put them in spoiler tags.

What's the betting however that Mario and Lisa now do a Las Vegas wedding and it's splashed all over the tabloids.

Forgot about that, was 6 years ago though!

Whilst the overall vote was still quite close (though not the closest in history, as you've clearly pointed out) I think she was referring to the how the vote was progressing during the week, as onetrickpony has stated - not how it was on the final day, as many, including me had perceived.

Where have you seen only 2m were cast for the whole of BB8 - not seen any stats on voting figures at all.

(And 1% of 200,000 is 2000, not 200).

It's difficult to judge the voting trends now - the last time figures were released were for the BB6 final, which got around 6m - and it's fair to say they've fallen since then.

Generally speaking though the finals got as many votes as the total voters cast during the season, so even if voting had fallen by half in the last few years, I'd still expect at least 5-6m votes to be cast each year - but I'd have thought it would be nearer the 10m barrier myself.

I meant to put 2000 Embarassed Laughing

Anyway last year £244,208 was given to charity with 10p from each vote going to charity. That means around 2.4m votes were cast for the whole of BB8, however it is worth noting that BB8 was the first series without text and red button voting.
