The guy was 23 when he lost his sight, I assume he'd mastered basic table manners by then so being blind isn't even an excuse, it's just downright uncouth and inconsiderate when other people are watching.
I have blind friends who don't eat like that, and one of them was blind from birth, so he doesn't actually know from seeing how other people behave at the table. Mikey has that advantage as an adult, presumably.
I'm sure you don't like all blind people being tarred with the same brush Stuart, and yet you are doing it now.
What you are really saying is that all blind people are able to eat just as well as somebody with sight - why? You are fortunate enough to not know what it is like to be blind, so don't assume everyone finds it as easy as everyone else. I'm willing to bet many blind people find it much more difficult than others to behave 'normally' at the table.
