I wouldn't say Nicole was ugly, by any stretch of the imagination. You obviously haven't seen me first thing in a morning! Wink

The only issue I have with her entry is making her eligible for the prize. That makes her a target for nomination by the original HMs the week after next - which takes away our opportunity to remove both of the intensely boring HMs (Mo and Mikey!) for another week. Confused

I'm sure she will change Rex's attitude though and be interesting viewing. Wink

Anyone agree with me that this is the most entertaining and interesting bunch of housemates and series of BB that we have witnessed in the past 3 years? Surely, the audience deserves to grow??? Very Happy

The audience is growing Very Happy Albeit not even matching BB8 standards but a vast improvement on past weeks. This week we've had:

Monday- 3.3m, best Monday figures since week 1
Tuesday- 3.5m, best Tuesday figures since week 3, equalling with week 4
Wednesday- 3.4m, best Wednesday figures
Thursday- 3.4m, slightly down on last weeks 3.5m but it still won the 9pm slot

Evictions have been getting around 3.5m-4m, I expect tonights was at the upper end of that range with the way it was done/amount that was up. Nothing special in comparison to past series, still performing for Channel 4, last nights was second in the 16-34 range and not far behind Eastenders which got double its audience. Its a step in the right direction though.

All figures quoted are overnights and include C4+1.

Nicole is very peculiar looking ... I mean I'm not saying shes ugly because shes not but she looks a lot older than 19 ( Shocked ) and a Jodie Marsh nose. She actually reminds me a lot of Nush from BB4 and Danielle Brent who played Natalie Buxton in Bad Girls.

What - she's 19! And yes, she is ugly.

Yep, she is quite peculiar looking I have to admit. I can see why Lisa & Luke picked the 6th model in that identity task, she was the prettiest out of them all!

Speaking of InsideBigBrother, I got told off earlier tonight for telling some idiot to stop making up false rumours, then he called me an ex-friend? What on earth?

In all seriousness, I am just fed up of that site, comments clogged with tweens shouting for people to get evicted, I should just stop now!

Number 6 was quite special though. Natural beauty, not 34 layers of dried out tango. Rex's overreation was unnecessary and if I was #6 I would be very annoyed. But you have to hand it to Big Brother for giving them a bad shot to stir things up a bit Very Happy She was on BBBM, I really have seen her before but I can't put my finger on where.

Agreed, the ratings page is the only remotely half decent page on there, well if you're into that sort of thing I suppose which to be honest I'm not really but I'm sure many on here will be interested in the figures ... A lot of people dislike that site, I think it all stems from 'Flack-gate'.

In other news has anyone really warmed to Sara lately? And on the live feed Lisa has just broke through a fire exit door and tried to escape ... only to return then speak to the producers. She keeps saying how its a test, which in fairness Rex & Nicole must really be hard for her on quite a few levels.

I think this is the most regular bunch of housemates since the first four series. The critics who label it a freak show are just lazy journalists - they're a pretty normal bunch, and the series has been all the better for it.

The main thing letting the show down IMO isn't what they're doing with the HMs in the house, but it's the post-production.

Marcus's narration is especially irritating, reminding us of things which happened just minutes ago, while things like skipping half the nominations and not making eviction night the event it once was (just by including some simple features like a profile of nominees and a quick chat to Friends and Family) don't help too.

Even before Zezi got ditched though Little Brother was an improvement on the last couple of years with Dermot IMO - but Big Mouth seriously needs a regular host. They should have stuck with Jack Whitehall - no one who followed has bettered him IMO.

They also need to make the eviction show the climax of the night and switch straight to live streaming after on E4. Ditch the Friday Big Mouth, and also Big Ears.

Sundays BBLB used to be the evictees first appearance since they got kicked out - now it seems to be the last considering they get carted out on Big Mouth and Big Ears within an hour of leaving the house.

I agree with that. The point of a narrator is to lead us out of one scene into another, i.e. "Meanwhile in the kitchen...", or "Earlier that evening..." ahead of the cut in action.

Instead Marcus sounds like he's audio describing, as they cut to the next action before he announces "Dale is sitting on the couch" - which we can already see.

Is he a narrator or a describer? There's a difference.

He's like a narrator of a children's story - it won't be wrong until rather than hearing the HMs speak we'll just get Marcus putting on an accent and quoting their lines.

A decent narrator should go unnoticed.

I think they've done that on purpose this year with having Mikey in the house. There will be more blind people *watching* Big Brother than people realise. What we take for granted and think is too obvious might be very useful for someone with a visual impairment. There is the argument of saying theres audio description but it doesn't really take up too much time, an extra 5 seconds if that.

I agree on explaining things 5 times per show though. They say people who watch Big Brother are brain dead but I'm sure most can remember and those who only just tuned in would be able to pick it up quickly.

Marcus has turned into a parody of himself these days. Listen to him in series 1

With regards to spin offs, Caroline Flack is extremely popular and should get either BBLB or BBBM. But I can't help but think they ought to ditch BBBM in favour of a revert to EFourum with ordinary presenters or bring Big Ears to TV ... I've never listened but apparently its good.

So not the case - and discriminatory against the non-blind if it was.

He's been doing it for the last couple of years - but this year it's beyond a joke. And it does take up crucial time. So often rather than getting the reaction shot from BB announcing something, we get Marcus telling us about it instead when more often than not the original announcement to the house was done much quicker - and we get to see how the HMs react too. And that's what we want too.

Telling us where every housemate is - especially when it's just "most of the housemates re in the house" is an insult too. In week one it might help, but we're in week nine now and know exactly who everyone is.

We also haven't got the memory of a goldfish, and don't need a full explanation of not just what happened yesterday, but what happened before the break.

As for nominations, we don't care how long they've been nominating for - we just want to see who nominated who and why. From BB1-4 they managed to show all nominations each week in a show half as long, so no reason now why they can't all be shown.

This week for example we had "Dale is the first HM from hell to nominate" and a shot of him walking to the DR, then rather than show him nominate they cut to Rex and Sara talking about whether Sara is sexy, which is hardly more relevant than the nominations, and then cut back to Dale just confirming his nominations and then a shot of him leaving the DR and going to make something to eat.

They could have probably shown Dales' nominations with a brief soundbite reason in less than half the time it took them not to show them - and this is repeated with several HMs, until about Mohamed when they get bored and just run off who nominated who after then.

Nominations are the key part of the format and not only is it important we hear why people are nominated, but also how a housemate reveals is very revealing too. And not only are they not shown on the show itself, they're not even put online or included in any article or press release.

Just watched the clip of the 1st ever BB. Didn't watch that series - can't believe how low key their entry to the house was compared to nowadays.

Hmm I don't know though, not many people watch BB religiously like they used to and hence why these full explanations are needed. But I agree when Marcus goes into every minute detail it's a bit unneeded.

I think BBLB needs different hosts next series. George Lamb is ok but he lacks genuine interaction to me. I don't know if that makes sense.
