I agree Juicy Joe. I was a bit worried 16 was too many, but it seems to have worked this year, in fact better than the last couple of years when there have been fewer HMs.

I think splitting the bedrooms again has helped too - it's enabled cliques to form quite quickly.

Sylvia - "I'm not getting involved in that". You're deliberately getting involved!! Rolling Eyes

As for Alex and Dennis... jeez...

Best show of the series so far tonight though - BB9 just got interesting.

And I'm loving Sylvia's game playing - far more entertaining than Mario's sly tactics.

P.S. Considering most of us around here watch "The Ant and Dec" I assume we're all member of the Mario Fan Club! Rolling Eyes

Someone died? Rolling Eyes

Seems you're the only one watching. Ratings have been poor so far but last night it hit rock bottom with 1.8m.

I'm no great defender of the show, but you seem to be going out of your way to prove how awful it is, and how anyone who watches it is a sh*t.

No-one has ever pretended the Saturday night show brings in high ratings - it being a Saturday night, which is why other than the eviction nothing of note is generally planned for Fridays.

Fair enough, you don't like it, but you really don't need to attach the ratings spin or flame its viewers to justify that.

Why don't you go away, no one cares what you're saying. You don't watch Big Brother, great. NOW GET OUT OF THE THREAD.

Brekkie - I agree, the series is great so far. The ratings should pick up eventually when the viewers who left in BB8 come back.

Honestly, there are some shows I don't like that have threads on TV Forum. I don't crash in and slag it off.

I'm hoping the show improves as the series progresses. I've watched a few of the highlights shows and haven't seen much to entertain me yet, this seems to be borne out by the disappointing ratings.

For some, probably quite illigical reason, I took an instant dislike to Mario/Shaun, and I tend to fast-forward through parts with him in. It's unfortunate that they've managed to discover 'Charley Mark II' in Alex; some may find her a reason to watch, unfortunately I find her bullying quite a turn off.

This series has got off to a great start but ratings appear to have been affected by Euro 2008. Last nights figures peaked at 2.5m at 9.55pm but after the match had finished, Big Brother gained 1m viewers. The average against the match was 1.4m, the average not against was 2.1m.

However the slot average is ridiculously low so for Channel 4 that is a good figure.

Last Saturday 500,000 watched it on C4+1 too, so once that figure is added it'll be on a par with the range for Saturday nights in recent years, which rarely got over 2.5m.

I wouldn't be too concerned yet though - a show in BB5 got 1.8m (actually that series had pretty poor ratings for the first couple of weeks too), so I wouldn't write it off yet. The producers though do seriously need to pull something out of the bag this week or next just to really announce that the show is back to it's best.

They need to engineer something really controversial that will make the news. That will get viewers back, they'll see the quality of the show and stick with it like what happened in BB5 after fight night. Fight night really decided the fate of the future of Big Brother. If that hadn't occurred BB would have probably been long axed.
