Not seen ITV's statement saying they won't pick up the show, have you got a link?
Personally, I'm quite gutted about the show being cancelled by Channel 5. It's been a while since I've watched the show on a night-by-night basis, but it's something I enjoy tuning into when I do. I'd agree with what others have said about the direction the show has gone in whilst being under Channel 5 in that it has lost its way a bit.
With that said, tonight's launch was intentionally steeped in the show's roots. It's clear that Endemol want the show to be picked up and there is very obvious word choice being used by Emma and Rylan saying that this is "the last series on *channel 5*" which shows they are hopefully. I'd also add to this point that unlike other shows, you can really tell how much the presenters love the programme and I think that helps to build a community around the show which I think is really important.
I can understand Channel 5's want to diversify, but I think they stand to lose quite a lot from this decision. Big Brother has a strong presenting team, especially with Emma who I doubt Channel 5 could get if it weren't for the show, it brings in the channel's best ratings and has a solid fanbase. Will be interesting to see how they fill the gap.
I think I have a lot of nostalgia about the show, perhaps that makes my judgement less balanced, but ultimately what a shame considering the send-off it got from Channel 4 if this is how the series ends.
As of right now ITV & Channel 4 have confirmed they will not be bidding for Big Brother. Endemol have been approached by several broadcasters and online media platforms about BB, non have made a formal offer yet.

More importantly Channel 5 stand to lose a lot of money if their gamble doesn't pay off. It's all very well for Ben Frow to want to diversify but I get the feeling he thinks he's running Channel 4 and needs to be worthy.
They're ditching a franchise that is ridiculously cheap per episode and they'll need to find many new programmes to fill the void.

I really like the titles and branding to this series. The choice of font is refreshing, and a little old school.
This already has a back to basics feel; the way in which they showed simple introductions and chats to the housemates interlaced with their auditions was a lot better than previous character defining vts. The housemates seem like a lovely mix of characters too. It could be a very good series to bow out on - just a shame that they didn’t do this a few series ago and it may not be getting the chop.

They would've had more time to do the celeb version. They've had to redecorate the place in only four days!
C4 kept their launch shows to 90 minutes max generally. Agree the pacing of this was rather slow.
Also hate what they've done with the house - looked so much nicer for Celeb BB.
