Big Brother Canada has revealed the news house finally. I think its Epic. Im getting a "Game Of Thrones/ Harry Potter sorta feeling. It may not be everyone's taste. I love it because it fits the theme. And certainly the house itself will play a part in the show across the season. Remember the North American version is more game than social experiment. The sheer creative force behind the show is remarkable. Some things have certainly been changed. Such as the general lighting. The layout is the same as the previous house. Still unclear if its been rebuilt in a new studio. The upper level has clouds covering the ceiling and walls. The house has a castle/medieval theme. With stone pillars and it features a huge "Stain glass" eye on the wall above the back doors and the dining table. Bedrooms are covered in the roses. One room red roses the other room covered in white roses. The lighting has been completely changed to uplighting suspended from the the ceiling in the all the bedrooms. The house seems to be sinking into the fire and the bottom half is burned up.

This is the kitchen. The storage room is to the left. I like the fire breaches dotted around the walls. They are actually screens with fire graphics playing continually.
Here is the dining room. The entrance to the swimming pool is gone. The table now has a camera built into the middle of it. (never seen that on BB)
"Stainglass" Eye window
To get to whats called the throne room, you walk down a short hallway and open the gates and drawbridge, this is where the HOH will decide who its nominated. Notice the eye logo on the shields. The eye logo appears on the Diary room door. It seems smaller than years past. Or maybe its the photo.
Here is the bathroom. With clouds everywhere. Dont really like it. But they changed the mirror windows through parts of the house. They now have lights around them with rounded edges. BBUSA has never changed them. Notice the suspended lighting boxes with up-lighting. Nothing fancy as in years past. The showers are reflected in the mirror to the left. And the toilet is the dark blue door.
Here is the whiterose bedroom, Notice again the box uplights. Very different from the full internally lit skrim that covered the ceilings before.
Red rose bedroom
HOH bedroom. Notice the changed ceiling lights. typically the ceilings were address as part of the room decor. These suspended light fixtures seem like they are not going to be changed any time soon.
HOH Bathroom. It seems much bigger. There used to be a toilet where those blue stools are located.
The craziest room in the house by far is the Catacombs room better know as the Have-Not room. The crypt has a sword on the cover. It will be intersting to see who falls into the pool while trying to sleep
Here is the only outdoor space by the hotub. Its much larger. Not sure about the fur.The eyes are creepy. LOL
Hallway to the diary room
The pantry is brand new. Notice the eye logo on stainless steel. Apparently Wendy's is a sponsor this year. So there is a drive thru window. So they branded the pantry with a Wendys Logo.

The studio building for BB Canada has changed. Since Showline Studios got sold last year, production for BBCAN moved to Studio 550.

Well the table camera has never been used in North America and has been used in the UK in 16 years. Thanks Josiah for the information about the studio. I was aware the Showline Studios was sold for redevelopment, but was unable to find where the production moved to. So clearly they just dismantled, large portions of the house the house and shipped it all to the new studio. So the hot tub area larger. The HOH bathroom is different layout. There is no step from the house into they backyard. And the lights in all the upstairs rooms is different. The nomination room is much smaller and the ceiling is much lower. It hard to say if the other rooms are exactly the same size. Though I havent seen pics of the pool area, some are people speculating that the house no longer has a pool, as it was seldom used. Plus I havent seen pics of the back of house from the indoor backyard/competition arena. So we dont know the true size of that. Having looked at a Google satellite view of Studio550, its right on a main road and there are some houses nearby and their property backs right up to a fence, and its near the noisy Gardiner Expressway, so it will be interesting to see where they constructed the outdoor hottub area and how they can keep people from shouting things at the houseguests or the traffic noise from drowing out conversations.

It probably adds very little to the show other than the seeing the people’s plates or unattractive views of people from the neck up.

You think so?! Im remember many intimate conversations Ive seen on the live feeds at that long table that have been shot from a perimeter camera. It will be interesting to see how its used i think.

IIRC, that camera was only for the streaming, and wasn't a pan/tilt, but instead had a weird lens/reflector that gave it a (horribly distorted) 360° view in the horizontal - the viewer on the website could then correct for the distortion and let you pan it to show only the view you were interested in. The not moving meant as a bonus that the housemates never paid it any attention, getting some interesting web only conversations.
The camera in the table is nothing new at all - way back in BB2UK in 2001 it was one of the featured cams on live streaming IIRC.
IIRC, that camera was only for the streaming, and wasn't a pan/tilt, but instead had a weird lens/reflector that gave it a (horribly distorted) 360° view in the horizontal - the viewer on the website could then correct for the distortion and let you pan it to show only the view you were interested in. The not moving meant as a bonus that the housemates never paid it any attention, getting some interesting web only conversations.

The opening to this series was absolutely epic. It was totally extra. The production of it out did what they created last series. The studio looks better that I thought it was going to. The blue wall with the clouds and the wings is actually a huge screen and the clouds move across the wall.
