It's just dawned on me what the new BB logo reminds me of.

Last year's was my first Big Brother (was out of the country for the first two) and I was thinking "what can be remotely interesting about watching a bunch of people just sitting around". Sad to say, I got hooked and I'm already looking forward to this year's...

I work for a furniture/home accessories store and got to hand-pick a few items for the BB4 house (silly, I know, but I'm looking forward to seeing 'my' stuff on the show). The rounded corners motif will be evident throughout the house. The pictures released so far look really really nice, although perhaps all the pastels will take a bit of getting used to.

Big Brother eyes are set to appear on C4 from Monday, according to Digital Spy: http://bigbrother.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds3533.html

Not sure if these are for idents or trailers though.

Speaking of trailers, I think C4 are holding them back a bit this year due to I'm a Celebrity... Apart from the break bumper eye, with less than two weeks to go I've not seen one Coming Soon trailer yet.

Also, C4 have confirmed BBLB gets the 6pm slot on C4: http://bigbrother.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds3534.html

Also, with the cricket season looming, this will affect Hollyoaks which normally airs in hour long double bills during the summer.

The first eviction is rumoured to be on Day 8. It's likely that with E4's new show, Nominations Uncut, the housemates will have to nominate on their first Monday in the house.

And finally - Big Brother has two C4 shows as well as live coverage on the first night. The first show at 8.30pm sees the housemates going in.

Does the second at 10.40pm see a housemate coming out?

Unless it's a phone vote like in the first week last year.

Back down under, Big Brother Australia is having some difficulties, with major rumours surrounding eviction rigging following the wrong phone numbers being read out repeatively.

The complicated nomination system used last week is also rumoured to have been axed.

On eviction night, one housemate was evicted from one house, with all seven remaining in the other.

It has now been revealed that the two houses have a communal kitchen, shower and underground pool, which housemates will discover in about a weeks time.

The split houses have proved unpopular and ratings have fallen by about 50%, losing out to repeats of Home and Away and Frasier, in it's early evening slot.

Check out http://www.bigbrother.com.au for the official site, or the (far superior) fan site - http://www.behindbigbrother.com

Back in the UK, more details about the new house have been revealed. The diary room has been relocated to the side of a corridor which leads to a new bathroom, which includes a shower, bath and "egg-shaped" toilet. Also, an overview of the garden reveals that the whole "poor side" has been cut off, as can be seen here: http://www.2003bigbrother.co.uk/housephoto.html

Well, it all sounds good. I hope that it'll lean more towards the 2000 series, as the 2002 version was messed around with far too much. The 2000 version had a lot more edginess and the you-don't-know-what'll-happen-next factor about it. Classic show.

What I like about our show as opposed to other countries is the fact that the prize is kept low to stop it featuring in contestant's minds.

A £1m prize could mean a load of Nasty Nicks - it'd be Millionaire Major Charles "Cough Cough" Ingram all over again otherwise.

No, I disagree. Only a handful of the cameras in the BIG Brother House are of the CCTV variety. Don't
forget, they have full sized studio cameras in the so called "camera run", positioned behind the 2-way
mirrors. These cameras will be more than capable of recording and transmitting pictures in 16:9, and
so too are the cameras in the main BIG Brother studio. Overall, they'll have more proper TV cameras
than the smaller CCTV cameras, so I see little excuse for BB4 to be transmitted only in 4:3 format.

The Salon was in 4:3, and that had a similar set-up to Big Brother (only it was a beauty salon rather than a house), and that was only ealier this year, I doubt BB will be any different. Even the BB "eye" aniamtions being shown on E4 between ad breaks on BB Hopefuls are in 4:3 format.

I did think the show would switch last year, but it didn't. As I'm a Celebrity and more crucially Fame Academy (made by the same company in a house) were in widescreen

But don't both shows shoot totally with conventional cameras, rather than having some CCTV ones, like Big Brother & The Salon do?

I really have hopes for BB this year. Last year, as was said, the format was messed aroudn with too much, and the housemates were generally a very dry bunch, I stopped watching half-way through as it had got so boring. Hopefully it will be more like the 2000/2001 series with a decent mix of housemates, and more towards the original format. I really hope that a lot of the rumours aren't true with the format messed around with, though hopefully if they choose a decent group of people, hopefully it will still be good. BTW, anyone seen BB Hopefuls on E4? A lot of mad people on there........

Regarding the format...

This year I do think they need to basically stick to the basic format, although I would not object to introducing a new nomination system such as the Head of Household.

However, over the next few years I think the show needs to be tweeked slightly to introduce a new format which can run for the next few years. IMO, the bars were a good change, but not one that can be repeated year on year.

I also think the show needs to be extended by a couple of weeks now they have 12 contestants. Big Brother UK is still 64 days long, while most others run for three to four months.
