Police were in the garden, and insepcted the grass patch where the tables were, but left a few minutes ago. BB Site has been officially declared safe - electrical equipment was mistaken. Silly sniffer dogs...
HMs should be able to return ASAP.

just to repeat that but from DS.. (as requested)
Update - 12:22am: The Elstree complex area has now been declared safe after it was revealed that the suspicious box contained only electrial equipment, with the sniffer dog reacting to pyrotechnic residue; the Big Brother house has since been combed by policemen and members of the show's production team.

anyone else think that tonight was a big **** **** ploy to get a media frenzy? the BB team never said bomb, and they knew dog's would react to the pyro substance, therefore legitimately (sp i know) creating a self-made alert. this made it okay for the police to make official confirmations of a package found, and news all over the world to report it.. **** crap!

I don't think C4 know what they're gonna do now.
They've shown repeats of BBLB and V Graham Norton, but the EPG on Freeview now reads (12.44am) "This is Channel 4 Television. Direct From London, you're watching Channel 4 Television on the UK DTT Network."
Whats coming up after graham?

I checked E4 then (12.55am) and the announcer said 'We can't bring you BB Live tonight, so instead time for a quiz, Your Face or Mine.' So I assume E4 will be running repeats for now. (I was hoping it was going to be Countdown for a second for some stupid reason.) I might assume that they might have had to switch the equipment off or something like that, as it has now been declared safe.

They went back to the house on E4 at 1:14; a caption came up a few minutes before. They're just talking about how it's an anticlimax for tonight; nothing interesting at the mo (they're in the garden), but I'm recording it, so if they say anything interesting I'll tell you tomorrow.

Is this the second time the police have had to visit the BB compound? ISTR last year the police chasing somebody in the garden or something...
BR
They had intruders at the old Big Brother house in Bow, but that was dealt with by security. I've always thought it be quite funny at the Elstree house if the neighbours complained about the noise to the police and they came to the house.
UPDATE:
Digital Spy reports the housemates returned at 1.10am. Earlier in the evening they had been locked in the girls bedroom before a producer entered via the fire exit telling them "Not to be scared" and informing them of the bomb scare, which led to alot of cheering and jumping. The housemates were ushered out of the house under strict instuctions not to speak to security etc and taken to a small room, where they were filmed.
As if the bomb scare wasn't frightening enough, they were given Westlife CD's to pass the time.
Also, can anyone access the BB website. I can't get in anyway at all - always getting an error message.
