I think so too. When such important news come up they have to get informed... the rule should separate them from daily news topics!

Is anyone, anywhere, watching this?

I don't know anyone who is. The last time I remember everyone talking about it was two years ago, with Charley, the twins, Brian, etc.

People I speak to who were previously avid viewers seem to have turned their back on the programme this year.

I've tried watching a couple of the highlight shows, but didn't find anyone of interest to tempt me to watch it regularly, although about 2m are still tuning in on average, which is a loss of about 40% on last year.

They tried to create some interest by having a '10th Birthday' last week, which was rather odd for a show which started only 9 years ago. I believe some additional Housemates were added too, which again smacks of desperation when they are half way through the series.

C4's contract to broadcast BB ends next year, but no doubt some of the channel's executives must be asking themselves whether it's actually worth letting it wither on the vine until then.

This year's is BB10, and it's been once a year, so it's been 10 years. And C4 and Davina have already confirmed that the show will be returning next year regardless of complaints regarding the live feed [which is being discussed as returning next time anyway].

After nine years of not missing an episode, I stopped watching after the first week - the changes to the eviction interview were the final straw for me, changing the thing that needed changing least whilst leaving the shows much bigger problems there for all too see.

I did dip back in last week for the birthday clips, but physically couldn't let myself be treated like an imbecile by Marcus Bentley, so just watched the bits I wanted. Friday's live show wasn't too bad, but then after taping the shows at the weekend I found myself with no desire to actually watch them.

I still think if it had been treated right by the channel and if the producers had given the show the significant overhaul it required it could have had some kind of revival, and survived beyond next year - but in it's current state it seems cruel letting this series run it's whole course, never mind having another next year.

2009 - 2000 = 9!

It's not their tenth birthday or tenth anniversary. Fair enough to mark "ten series" on air, but this 10th birthday nonsense isn't fooling anyone.

2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009. That is ten years, ten series therefore it is Big Brother's tenth anniversary.

I am confused by this birthday thing, perhaps it could be illustrated with some sort of table highlighting the birthday celebrations of other shows?

I hardly think anyone is obsessive and weird enough to make something like THAT hyma

Just because 2000 ends with a 0, it still does count as a year. Laughing

Right, basic Key Stage 1 Maths:

You are born on 14th July 2000.

You are 1 year old on 14th July 2001, correct?

You are 2 years old on 14th July 2002, correct?

So when are you 10 years old?
