Big Brother - axed

The £180m deal began with BB9, not BB8, so indeed they've been making a loss in recent years.

Well I read it started with BB8 and was commissioned in 2006 from 2007-2010, spanning 3 years. I also remember reading somewhere the plan was for just BB1, then series 2 was commissioned, then 3, 4 and 5, then 6 and 7, and finally 8-11. BB10 wouldn't be reported as just breaking even if the contract started at BB9 and is making a huge loss. Think about it.

It looks like Davina has had a kick up the back side with most of the negative Twitter comments shes had about her interview with Lisa. She has displayed no obvious bias and has been quite well actually! I'm also liking how they're bringing Big Brother full circle as it approaches the end by having psychological input via VT's (even if it is a load of rubbish).

I'm quite shocked at the result though, no way on earth would I rank David above Charlie and David, and Rodrigo in last place

Very deserving winner, nice to see the public finally accept a glamour model for who they are.

Well dispite the lack of interest, the show averaged ok in terms of ratings and in my opinion was one of the best years of Big Brother. As many of you will probably know I'm a big fan of the show and finally got to go to an eviction (Macrus' last week) and it was amazing, exhausting but an amazing time. The only thing I could hope for next year for the final one is that its shorter and the live feed is back, doubtful though.

The last 15 minutes were ridiculous. Had it just ended at 11pm the ratings would have corrected themselves with officials and they could have just got about 4m viewers. But sadly all chances of that ruined by sticking around to see Sophie get her money, then ending 8 minutes early. I was optimistic about tonights ratings but I think they'll struggle to be above 3m now. But who cares about ratings? It isn't as though it will decide if the show has been axed or not As Davina said its time to stop obsessing about ratings and just enjoy the show!! It had a shaky start but BB10 turned out to be one of the better series.

It was, editorially, one of the best series they've done, which is a shame in a year where it has seen its ratings fall through the floor and Channel 4 wield the axe.

The votes for 5th-2nd place were very close. When the percentages are adjusted as a share of the total vote for the final 5, they are:

Rodrigo (5th) - 11.00%
Charlie (4th) - 13.20%
David (3rd) - 14.40%
Siavash (2nd) - 15.72%
Sophie (1st) - 45.68%

It would be interesting if they released the actual number of votes cast, but I don't think it would be that many. It could certainly explain Sophie's win. Aside from CBB2, that was the biggest winning percentage ever.

Last nights final watched by 2.7m. Not great and in line with what evictions tend to get. It suggests at this point BB no longer has casual viewers, so ratings for CBB and BB11 will be good to see. Up or down on this year? Not that it matters but I do hope they rise so BB can go out with some modesty instead of it being flogged to absolute death.
