There are other questions, What will Channel 4 fill 100,000 hours of TV a year with without BB and what will be next for Davina? Her TV work excluding Big Brother has dried up since her dire chat show

I reckon a new show to fill the summer with Davina will take it's place. I doubt it will be a chatshow but another gameshow etc.

While I am a fan of Big Brother, i will be sad to see it go but feel it is the right decision. I hate it when people label people who watch Big Brother as chav and scum as I've seen. I regularly watch it with my family and we are no chavs.

Be interesting to see how C4 cope without it. Despite not rating well this series, it continues to dominate the Channel 4 top 10 ratings.

All this talk of 'BB7' and 'BB9' gets me a bit confused...a Google check reveals BB7 was the year of Pete, Nikki, Aisleyne and the like, agreed it was one of the best series. Saying that I enjoyed BB8 (Brian, the twins, Ziggy/Chanelle), that was the last one I watched though.

Definitely a case of how the mighty fall. It seems everyone's been saying it's had its day since BB2, but as recently as a few years ago it was still must-watch TV. It never recovered from the Shilpa/Jade scandal it seems, ironic because the original series Jade was in was probably its peak!

Back in the day, I remember having a 'Big Brother Party' on the night of the final; although that was really just an excuse for lots of friends, food and booze: very similar to Eurovision, really. Wink

That fizzled out after the 2005 series (BB6). It's not even been a water cooler topic in the office for the last few years. Confused

The only thing I can really say is HALLELUJAH .

But then again... what are the odds Channel 5 will try and pick it up? Or, god forbid, one of the Living channels?

If you actually read the thread before launching onto your keyboard with such oddly religious zeal, you would realise that Five have already excluded themselves and Sky have indicated a cool indifference.

As BSkyB are more than likely to buy the VMTV channels (which include Living), then it would be surprising to see Endemol brokering a deal to move BB there after 2010.

So with £50 million saved with the cancellation of Big Brother, do you think Channel 4 would be interested in bringing back The Crystal Maze back for 2011? With all new zones and all new games for the 21st century? With the cost of producing the show always having been a problem in discussions on these forums over the past few years or so, surely they would have enough money to reinstate this show? Once a week over the Summer? Surely?

No, I think Channel 4 made it quite clear that it's going towards original drama, comedy and acquisitions. C4 are not going to bring back the Crystal Maze (as much as I'd like it back).

by the way:

Davina has also been announced as the host of ''Just Dance'' a public dance competition for Sky 1 starting in January.
