We've known for ages that BB is a sleaze-fest, but this year it really has sunk to an all-time low. Reading about Shahbaz, it's clear he could have mental issues, and for that reason alone should not have been picked to be a contestant. I've always feared a death will occur on Big Brother or one of its derivatives and we were perilously close to this becoming reality (pun not intended).
Channel 4 have the nerve to say the inclusion of the Tourette's contestant was to educate people about the condition. Bull. He's there to be laughed AT - not with, plain and simple.
You think things can't get any worse but somehow they always do. Channel 4 has always had a dubious reputation in certain areas but this so-called "public service broadcaster" is plunging new depths.

Bull is something you're familiar with. I'm not sure why I even bother replying to your ridiculous opinion fests (oh - and the email you sent me the other night made no sense whatsoever).
Pete applied to go on the show. Had he not been picked because of his condition it certainly would have been discrimination.
Pete is not being laughed at. I have more respect for him than anyone else in the house. He is entertaining, compassionate, good looking, fun, open minded and courageous.
I don't imagine you'd get on with him - can't see him being a Daily Mail reader. Does his condition offend you?
His condition does not in the slightest bit offend me and yes, it would have been discrimination if he was rejected on these grounds alone. And like everyone else who applies to go on the show, he knew what he was letting himself in for.
But however at ease Pete is with himself, we must expect there to be questions about Channel 4's motivation for including him.

So... you're not offended, it would have been discrimination to be excluded on the grounds of his condition, he knew what he was letting himself in for, no one is laughing at him and he is at ease with himself. Oh, and he appears to be a genuinely nice guy.
If you'd watched the show you'll know what a rational human being Pete is!
Shahbaz's inclusion is questionable - but is it all in heinsight. From the clips shown on BBLB tonight from the audition/lock-down faze, you wouldn't predict what would have happened!
Anyhow, back to ignoring any moral issues - and to the hope the eviction shows return to the studio this year. From the brief glimpses on BBLB tonight it definately looks like they've made some changes to the front of the house since last week.
There seems to be a walkway now from the base of the stairs, while the crash barriers seem to have been moved nearer to the studio - with loads more on the side which could be linking it right up to the studio again.
It all adds to the hope that the show will return to the studio - just as long as it's not false hope!
Basically, that Channel 4 might exploit his problem and make fun of him. Maybe Pete's presence WILL educate people about Tourette's, I hope it does. But there's still a lot of stigma attached and no shortage of cretins for whom Pete and others like him are figures of fun.

And what's your solution to that? To suggest that "Pete and others like him" be discriminated against and hidden away?

This is a case of you taking offense at an event which hasn't happened.
Pete is in no way a figure of fun. Find me one person on any internet board who has had a go at Pete.
This isn't good luck on his or Channel 4's part. This is because Pete is a remarkably nice individual who has qualities in abundance.
He didn't ask for your pity or protection Simon, and its a little patronising for you to give it.
I appreciate however that your feelings (although misplaced) have probably come from a good place.
