People are so quick to label people freaks! This lot seems relatively normal to me. A good age range too - quite a few in their late 30s.

Hate the crowd booing them in - it's bad enough when they boo them out, but booing them in is ridiculous. They are providing their entertainment for the next few months!

The graphics - the astons etc. are basically adapted from last year, but the colour scheme makes them different. Not sure about the titles - last years were the best and there is a bit too much going on in this years. They seem to contain some sort of message too!

Lisa is my tip for winner so far (now last year I think I tipped Mary!) - while George and Sezer are obvious front runners too!

Finally - at last Wales is represented. Imogen seems instantly likeable, but I'm unsure of Glyn - though I think he might have a Kenzie like innocent quality which will be popular!

Did "blinking" Helen on BB2 not represent Wales then? Laughing

That was five years ago! (Oh my God - 5 years!)

We had Lisa for a couple of weeks in BB4, which also had Scouser Scott who had grown up in North Wales - but apart from that, and Maggot in Celeb BB, there hasn't been any!

I'm half welsh myself, so to be fair I'm not counting Helen either Wink

Imogen does seem nice, I'm suprised how taken I am with her considering I would normally switch off as soon as I hear the words 'Miss [region] 2003'

Put The Telly On
I must admit they are all very prominent people this year - I seem to be warming to them all quite quickly.

I have to say I have a slight crush on Bonnie. Embarassed I notice Pete whistles to cover his tourettes, must be awkward for him but he seems a great bloke.

Ditto!

Love the E4 coverage promo - all the purple spirals!

Why do the C4 promo graphics always seem to look better than the actual show graphics?

Interesting that when Davina spoke about the Golden Ticket, she wasn't allowed to mention the word "KitKat", or even allude to any mention of chocolate bars, because of Ofcom rules on product placement. As I understand it, commercial tie-ins between TV shows and products are permitted as long as the product isn't actually mentioned on the show (Granada were once fined £500,000 for plugging a tie-in with Safeway on This Morning).

I can see this leading to a lot of dips in sound when the Golden Ticket winner finally enters the house, as the subject of how that person got into the house will obviously be a recurring topic of conversation.

I never understand that. Why can companies get sued for mentioning a product? It's like free advertising for them isn't it?

Production Placement is against UK broadcasting rules. See OFCOM's website.

BB Sets his first challenge

Big Brother has just set his first challenge. It seems that the 2 housemates who went to the diary room, Lisa and Shabaz, became part of "The Big Brotherhood".

For those interested, this bears links to the novel "1984" by Geroge Orwell, upon which the series is based. "The Brotherhood" was a much rumoured organisation whos main aim was to overthrow the dictating "Party" and it's leader "Big Brother". Over the coming days they must choose housemates to join the sect and therefore become imune from next weeks eviction. The housemates will also enjoy other privileges.

What the two "chosen ones" do not know is that the whole thing was broadcast for all the housemates to see on the plasma screen.

Those who aren't chosen will face the public vote and as per usual the housemate polling the lowest votes will be evicted.

Or, for that matter, how they obtained the ticket...for example, what about someone who doesn't care about BB finding a ticket, then deciding to flog it on eBay and make a nice little sum of money?

One, whether genuine or not (last time I checked, there was no picture of said ticket!) has already gone up for the bidding, reaching over £60 - seems like there is a price to pay for fame after all, literally.
