I think it's time the theme got a bit of a revamp myself - they've tinkered with it over the years, but I think it's time for a more noticable reworking of it!

I think the theme is fine as it is. Even though it's 7 years old, it still sounds like a fresh dance track.

The beds are good as well - shame the one used to introduce the housemates is very rarely used.

I thought they tweaked the theme for bb5 and its been like that upto bb7

Correct. I personally would like to see a return to the original theme as it feels more upbeat and, I suppose, I bit more brash.

They do change it very slightly every year AFAIK. Last year's was ever so slightly different.

I think from presentation point of view BB 4 was my favourite. When the eviction shows were studio based and Davina used to talk to the house and she would then run under the video wall, down the ramp and then through the crowd. It made the whole thing more accelerating.

I just noticed that there is a significant difference between Big Brother 1 and 7's music. There seems to be more going on in it.

The ending is probably the most noticeable.

Wasn't that Big Brother 1?

Yes from Big Brother 1 onwards. But I feel nowadays with it all based outside there is no pace to the eviction. I could understand it this year with Davina being heavily pregnant.

I have to say last year's BB had bigger personalities and characters that we all remember. We had Makosi, of course, Craig, DEREK( Very Happy ), Saskia,Roberto, Mary, Kamal... This year has slightly dumbed down housemates IMO.

...yes, but where are they all now? some of them have 'made it', and the rest have all faded away.... that happens to alot of BB Contestants... unless they are big with the public, they will fade away....

Definately the best studio they've had since moving to Elstree.

I liked last year's eviction studio too with the crowd around the stage - it seemed strange they went back to the more traditional layout this year!

C4's Kevin Lygo has said he expect to have to fight ITV off for Big Brother next time around, but can't see Endemol wanting to change channels!

Quote:
"I am sure they [ITV] have been in conversations with Endemol," Mr Lygo said. "I think they have been for a year and there is some acceleration now.

"Next year, it is on Channel 4 but beyond that it hasn't been decided but we want to keep it on the channel."

He said that with the next deal, Endemol would be looking for a "long-term home" for Big Brother, but was "sure" they would want to keep it on Channel 4.

"If it goes, it will be with our full knowledge," he said. "But I don't want that to happen and I can't see it happening."

Looks like C4 will be there to make a long term committment - and I think Endemol have the sense to know that it makes more sense to stay with C4.

A move to ITV would probably see the show back in a 30-minute slot, and as soon as it was out of favour it would be gone! ITV only want the show to make money, while on C4 it's not just the ratings - the show is there on merit!
