The new series of Big Brother will last for thirteen weeks and is expected to start with sixteen contestants.
The new series of the reality TV show is set to hit our screens earlier than ever before in order to grab as many viewers from other channels as possible.
The show, hosted by Davina McCall and Dermot O'Leary, will be launched on May 18, as opposed to the more traditional end of May spot.
They've launched the last couple of Celebrity series on a Thursday.
It makes sense really as Saturday's edition is always the lowest rated of the week and there has always been a big drop from episode 1 to episode 2. BB should hold it's audience better for Friday night!
Theres not been that many rumours for this series yet and if it does launch on the 18th thats just over two weeks to go, this time last year there was tonnes of rumours regarding the house, logo, contestants. Also it must be roughly a year since the eye break bumper aired on C4 during LOTR Can't wait to see the house because apparentely (sp) they are gutting it out!!!
Last year actually rumours were pretty thin on the ground until just a few days before the series - I remember the tension at Digital Spy!
They also left the press release really late - just a couple of days before the start rather than the first week in May as in previous years.
Since BB5 the housemates have gone in to a lockdown period of around two weeks before the series begins - so I'd expect by the end of next week rumours will begin to circulate!
And let's start an annual rumour now with just a comment - 16 housemates is too many for one house, don't you think!
well from what ive heard there will be a advert (flash of the eye) between lost of the 2nd of may. and also the Trial-run of house started yesterday afaik.
