So BB4 is over and the focus now moves on to BB5.

So what do we know. Well, Davina has said she will be back next year, while Digital Spy reports the house is moving to a much more secluded location in Epsom, Surrey - which will see the return of the eviction walkway.

And the changes I'd like to see:

Arrow The show is extended to 10 weeks so that no one is evicted in week 1 - with the prize raised to £100,000.

Arrow The Head of House system is introduced. The Saturday Challenge would be used to determine the new Head of House for the week. They would get a private en-suite bedroom.

Arrow Nominations are scrapped. Instead, the Head of House is the only one who nominates the two housemates that face the public vote. Housemates are permitted to talk about who the Head of House should nominate.

Arrow Every Tuesday night a Nominations Ceremony would reveal who has been nominated. The name of the non-nominees are placed in the nomination box. The Head of House pulls out the first name, with that person pulling out the second etc. Therefore, one by one the housemates learn who isn't nominated until the box is empty and the nominees discover they are up for the chop. The Head of House can then explain their reasons.

Arrow With housemates not nominating, every Thursday they are called to the diary room to discuss which of the nominees should be evicted. These are shown during the Friday night eviction preview.

Arrow The tasks are improved and become more original. Each week housemates would compete in the Head of House Challenge, the Shopping Task (a one-off, rather than through the week), a Luxury Challenge (to win access to things such as the hot-tub and sauna) and another mystery challenge (which has prizes such as a message from home).

Arrow Bedrooms are randomly allocated, with housemates not allowed to switch beds unless moving to a bed of an evictee.

Arrow Big Brother is more flexible with the rules of the house - only telling housemates not to do things when absolutely neccessary. (I feel this year Big Brother has not allowed any deviation from the rules by the housemates). Those that break the rules get a forfeit - and are only evicted in extreme circumstances.

So what do you think of what you propose - and what do you want to see yourself?

(And if your not a fan and about to type you hope Big Brother never returns - why are you reading a Big Brother thread? Let's keep this thread constructive, please!)

I think firstly they would need to find some interesting people. As has been said so often, this year has been quite boring, mainly due to boring housemates.

They need to find a way to keep the busty b!tch in the house next time to cause a stirr, for example, making her head of the house and thus "un-nominateable" or something.

Well, I've said in the main thread that I believe as individuals the housemates this year were very good choices - it's just as a group they didn't work.

Hear Hear,

Big Bother is boring, and is generally people sleeping all the time, not my idea of prime time TV. Get rid of it. For Good.

err - Survivor?

I would disagree with everyone one of those points apart from going to 10 weeks (keep the £70,000 - it's just right).

I'd say that the tasks should be week long again like they used to be and the Saturday task idea was poor.

Less gimmicks. Have the odd one but the amount of them this year was stupid.

More varied housemates. BB3 was bad because everyone was too evil. BB4 was worse because everyone was nice. Get a better mix,

Even smaller house with a better eviction routine. I still think the stairs are crap - you can't beat the bridge.

and get *STRICTER* with the rules. Nick was thrown out for breaking them. This year they all discussed the nominations in the last week which is a major break of the rules and BB just let them. Not right.

EDIT - Plus the papers don't help having hate campaigns against the people who make it interesting. The public whine when it gets boring but they voted out the good people in the first place. tsk.

I think they need to make the show much more interesting than it was this year - have more interesting people in the house.

Also delay BB5 until Mid 2005 as screening it next summer is too soon

Would seem a strange thing to do, I thought they had the Elstree studios signed up for the same number of years that the programme has left.

Also there isn't a studio complex in Epsom (unlike 3 Mills and Elstree) so they'd have to start from scratch.

Never understoood why it was £70,000

The problem with this is that the tasks work best when they take place over a week rather than a one-off evening task.

This year that was sort of true as therewas no Boy and Girl Bedroom.... although they took it upon themselves to split up in that way

I think for BB 5 they need to (and I think it will happen) have the Head of House thing. Instead of them all nominating each week, Just the head vote, and then they will know who they have been picked by and this may couse more bitching and arguments. Also I do think they should be tougher with the rules. If someone cocks up, Chuck them out, and either have one less person in the house or put someone new in. If the housemates know Big Bro will chuck them out they might start sticking by the rules. This year, Housemates could do anything and Big Bro would just tell them off and not even think about kicking them out.

This year there was that rumer about the atick with other contestants in, and they could be chucked into the house when ever Big Bro decided. Than could be interesting and new for next year.

I think Big Bro UK Needs to change the format a little to keep it fresh. All 4 years have JUST been people going into the house, siting, Voting , Reading, 9 weeks later winner, End of series, Thankyou and goodbye. I think Big Bro 5 needs something like Big bro 4 usa. Not necercerly the x factor but instead of it just being Big Brother 5, It should be Big Brother 5: The ******(whatever), or Big brother 5: Extream or Big Brother 5: The Battle or whatever 'Extra' feature they could add. Its needs to change to keep interest into the show.

They need to have more tasks to keep the busy!

Mini tasks that last a day or two

And one large task that lasts the whole series, if you manage to stay the whole series then you would be able to complete the task (doggy example but learn a language or something)

A better mix of people and maybe age ranges

A better planned eviction - I remember one year they all had a song which was played while they walked from the house.

Advertise the show better - why was there no advert saying something like one housemate will be leaving for Africa - to find out who tune in on....
or
adverts about Lisa being put in - tell us about her, what does she plan to do?

Rather than a head of house thing have the viewer choose who’s nominations will be the ones that count.
on Saturday and Sunday viewers would vote for who’s nomination will count.
on the Monday ALL housemates would nominate, but they would NOT know if their votes actually counted
Only the chosen housemates nominations would be up for eviction

this years school report would say " can do better! "

Personally, my favourite part of Big Brother is the psycology bit where they have psycologists interpreting the behaviour of the housemates. This was the original focus of the series - a psycological experiment to see how things would effect the housemates.

I think next year they should make life as difficult as possible for the housemates if they fail a task.
