Can't find the article, but when I was in town today I heard on the radio that Endemol believe Big Brother can remain on our screens for at least 30 more years.

Wonder if Dermot will still be doing BBLB in the hope Davina retires at 65?

With any luck Endemol will long be out of business by then. The only thing that would get me watching BB would be the public execution of Peter Bazalgette...

Well, actually, Peter Bazalgette has said himself that perhaps the end may be as close as BB6... http://bigbrother.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds7292.html

It's just a negative spin on a story that C4 haven't snapped up the rights to hundreds more years of Big Brother within days of the last series ending.

The current contract ensures BB airs next year, with both C4 and Endemol saying they have no plans to discuss the contract until after BB6, but often these things happen unexpectedly - after all after both the first and second series there were no firm plans for any future series.

However, I doubt C4 would want to renew immediately after a highly successful series. Now they know BB can jump back after a flop, they'll be hoping BB6 isn't too successful so they can get BB7+ at a cheaper prize than the current £10m a year they do pay.

Is it just me or would anyone else agree that none of the housemates seem to be whoring themselves as per previous years. Where the usual thing to do is sell their story to every newspaper, appear on every daytime magazine programme, regardless of channel size and popping up at any mildly showbiz party !

Michelle might be the only one making hay whilst the sun shines........

It's not exactly selling a story, but look who's on the front cover of Nuts this week.....

The interest isn't their so much now - and I think Big Brother will benefit from the obscurity of previous housemates.

Good for Shell, I say. The only reason she has done the photo shoots and stuff is to help out her family - she's already paid off her mum's mortgage for her!!

And is it me, or do those OK! Adverts seem REALLY REALLY cheesey - not just the Michelle/Stu ones, but the ones with Jordan last year were the same. Whyy??

Doesn't Victor "write" a column for the Zoo Weekly publication?

Apparently, he and Nadia are both represented by the same agent.

And Michelle and Stu have the same agent.

So says this week's Heat Smile

"What's with the "you're live on channel 4, please do not swear" stuff that Davina has been saying before they go live to the house?"

Billy H:
"Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that was first said by Davina near the end of Series 2 in 2001- there was a surprise eviction the day before the final, and Davina added the "please do not swear" line after one of the housemates did so."

Right series - wrong eviction. In BB2, when Amma was told she was going to be evicted, she used the "f***" word, which went out uncensored just before 9pm, inevitably leading the Mail brigade to complain to the ITC. So, since then, Davina adds in the "Please do not swear" when the next housemate is about to be evicted.

Indeed, fantastic pics...

Well after 71 days of breasts, brawls, bonking, bedsits and Becki Wink , BB5 is now over, and I for one thought it was the best series ever. The bosses came up with a cracking set of housemates (even though Emma was not a good decision). Congratulations to Nadia for winning, although Dan deserved it more, and I'm now looking forward to BB6!

Yes, but this line has now decended in to the relms of a catchprase for Davina.
It's all very well saying 'please do not swear' to the housemates, but usually during the last series, we have been hearing the words she is trying to get them not to say on the VT highlights of the previous day.

Which renders saying it in the first place all rather pointless.. Rolling Eyes
